Microphone Problems

I purhcased this producta bout a year ago. They are very comfortable and I have had very few problems, but there are a couple that are really frustrating to me. When the headphones reach around 10 percent they will randomly turn off, which is annoying because if the headphones have around 20 hours of battery life, if the headphones are at 10 percent that should still give me 2 hours of use. The other problem that I have is that when using applications that use the microphone or MIGHT use the microphone the headphones change to not having any sound. I have faced this problem with a ton of applications. There is no built in way to disable this "feature" unless you switch to stereo mode which makes the audio quality way worse.

Design flaws apparent while take-off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to buy this around-ear headphones since the over-ear design seems to have been discontinued. The sound is not as focused as you would expect from an on-ear one. I can understand that the on-ear headphones tend to hurt the ears after long ours specially in an airplane flight. However, unlike the on-ear headphones with noise cancellation, while take-off, these around ear headphones let the high pitched engine noise seep through and together with the noise cancellation, I always hear a "flapping" sound. I do wear glasses and for me these around ear headphones don't seal the space around my ears well. This is a serious design flaw and I am surprised how few people report this problem. My primary purpose for the noise cancellation is to eliminate engine noise on flights. I wish I can get my money back on this one.

Dear customer,

Thank you for your review of our QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones II! We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the noise cancelling.

We have taken great care when crafting the headphones' noise-cancelling function, however please bear in mind that the noise cancelling is not designed to filter out 100% of the noise around the user. Otherwise, in certain situations this could be dangerous, for example when crossing the street.

If you wear glasses, perhaps we can suggest removing these temporarily during take-off, so that the ear cushions will provide a tighter seal around your ears? This may improve your noise-cancelling experience. We also recommend that you check the firmware of your headphones for updates, in order to keep them and their noise-cancelling performance up to date.

Warm regards

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had these over a year. I use them when I need peace and quiet and when I go on family vacations when I’m stuck in a room full of snoring bears. I can’t hear anything and can finally get some rest. They are very comfortable and the sound is great. Thank you.

Still in the market for the perfect headphones

So I may still be in the market for headphones after all. Not sure how I feel about the Bose sound signature. It sounds nice and crisp but seems to be lacking something. Everything kind of sounds the same. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to love them but with the music I mainly listen too edm and hip hop they are falling kinda flat for me and honostly I prefer the sound of my JBL Everest 700s better even though they are a lower quality headphone. Things may not be as crisp but they sound richer to me. They also aren't as comfortable for me as my JBL. I wear glasses and they cause pressure and the head band material isn't and soft as I would prefer it to be. The JBL have nice thick ear cushions and a smooth headband material. The only reason I am replacing them is because the ear cushions have started to come apart. Bear in mind the JBL were given to me new and were until now the highest end headphones I have ever owner. My prior headphone were Skullcandy Hesh wired and some cheap no name bluetooth. Wouldn't call myself an audiophile but I do listen to a lot of music. My car audio is higher end Alpine. So all in all I think the Bose QC 35 II are nice but for the price point were very much a let down and I will be returning them. I may stick with my JBLs a little longer or I may try some Sennheisers that have good reviews. Oh I forgot to mention that the noise cancelling works amazingly well so if that's your main feature you are looking for these may be the headphones for you.

Very Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought mine Bose QuietComfort 35 II exactly 1 year and 1 month ago. Today, it simply died! It shows it is fully recharged and I plug it to the outlet but, it does not turn on!
It is unacceptable for premium headset like this one to last about one year. I tried to find ways of repairing it but 1st thing Bose ask is the serial number.. which is impossible to find!
I hope someone from Bose can take a look on this particular case.

Hello Emerson,

Really sorry that your QuietComfort 35 II wireless headphones seem to be experiencing some power issues. I would recommend visiting https://btu.bose.com to ensure that any firmware updates have been installed correctly. If the issue persists, please reach back to our support team. The serial number is found in the right earcup between the cushion and the scrim. http://bose.life/globalsupport

Thanks,
