I upgraded from the 600 watt to the 900 watt. I had a problem with leakage on my first one and it's the same issue with this one.it leaks through the base and comes out the round rubber disc on the other side of the blade.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have been using this for a couple months and it does work well with everything I tried so far in my morning smoothie, including nuts and dates. Have not tried ice yet. Noticed I did have to add extra liquid so that I cannot make a super thick smoothie (the kind you can eat only with a spoon) but it is still thick enough to make me happy.

One suggestion: the operating manual is a bit unclear on how to operate the unit. I had to call in and clarify. Maybe write the how to with more details.
