Very poor quality porcelain finish

After only 1.5 years of use I have multiple places of chipped and scratched porcelain. The first areas started showing within months of use and today I discovered more. It looks horrible. After much research before deciding to purchase this Gallery cooktop, thinking I had made the right choice, I cant express how greatly displeased and regretting my decision to include this cooktop in my brand new house. Because of the poor quality finish, the good points are overshadowed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GREAT ITEM (but?)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very Pleased with the item. Cooks well and has a great appearance. The only feature we are negative on is the bright glossy paint. Fry one egg and you have to pull the grating off and clean the bottom portion. Very hard to clean - it streaks and it is very difficult to get these streaks off. A black matt finish would of been easier to clean.

Awesome Cooktop!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this cooktop as an upgrade / replacement for a 20 + year old Kitchenaid unit I had. I was very skeptical buying something like this over the internet without seeing it. I was very pleased with the product when it arrived. It was exactly as pictured and described. I did have a small issue with the paint peeling off of the knobs as I removed the protective tape from them, but I was sent new knobs very quickly. The unit was very easy to install and once I was done installing it, I found it to work very well. I love the 5th burner in the center. This is something my old one did not have. In addition, the sealer burners make it very easy to clean. This model is very stylish too and really enhances the look of my kitchen. I have nothing bad to say about this. I am very pleased with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this cook top for a few weeks now and we couldn't be happier! The five burners are fantastic. If you have a large boil pot (for pasta) on the large center burner, you will have to finagle a bit to get a large pan on another burner next to it, but it definitely can be done. Burner temp is easy to control. Grates are sturdy, and all one level, so you won't catch on anything when moving pans around. Cleans well.
