Super Easy Setup

I had to replace my almost 10 yr old Netgear router and wanted an easy solution to the dead zones within our 3 story home. Our DSL modem comes into the home on the 3rd floor of our home, and our main living area is located on the 2nd floor. Even with the use of a range extender, there were still dead zones throughout the house which resulted in frequent breaks in connectivity. I placed the Orbi router next to the DSL modem and setup the satellite on the 2nd floor. The setup of the Orbi system took less than 30 minutes, including the security setup and was extremely simple. I have not yet found any dead zones throughout our house and no longer experience issues with changing connections as I had with the old setup. I am very pleased with this system and would recommend it to others.

Solved the problem

We have AT&T Uverse for our internet provider. I did tons of research and worked with the technicians who came to our home, trying to resolve our couple of dead spots. The dropped calls while using wifi calling were the biggest concern (living on an island in Georgia makes for poor cell service). We were able to determine that the internet signal coming into the home was wonderful. So, I finally settled on the Orbi as a hopeful solution. It was money well spent to say the least. Not a dropped call since the 15 minute installation (just download and follow the simple app) a few weeks ago. One point of interest, you may have to unplug your smart television(s) for a minute and do a reset on them in order for them to reconnect with the new wireless internet source. So far, a great product.

Easy mesh networking - Single name!

I'm a dad. Pretty tech savvy, but I admit to hanging around the IT department at work to ask them tech questions for home. I heard them talking about the Orbi for better coverage at home. The next day I heard my last complaint about out WiFi at home. Sure, I can take my teenage daughters complaining'”that's normal! But when my 5 year old boy got in on the act, I had it.
I put in the Orbi in about 20 minutes the night we got it (after a late basketball game). It worked! I went to bed and finished adjusting the settings in the morning. I went from four WiFi names down to one. Switched all the devices over to the new network and was in business. Very pleased. I really like the app to manage the network and have set up Circle to monitor the traffic. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent signal throughout the house

I recently replaced my single point Netgear router with a new Orbi AC2200 Router with a single Wall Plug Satellite. Prior to upgrading to Orbi my WiFi cameras were prone to going off line due to loss of WiFi signal. I attempted to fix this using a single Netgear extender but it didn't help very much. I also experienced slow down of WiFi speeds whenever we connected to the extender vs the router. Once I received my new Orbi I went through the easy setup process, installed the router in the same location as my old router and chose a central space for the Satellite. Now I have excellent signal throughout the house with no more dropped signal to my outdoor cameras and no slow down when connecting to the satellite. I would recommend this system to anyone with remote WiFi devices that you depend upon.

Wifi Everywhere You Need It

Actually, I have the RBK44. I chose it because we have fairly large house with multiple users that require everything from a streaming movies to heavy game hosting to a work from home office. This system allowed me to place the satellites closer to the power users in the house. Now there is a seamless Wifi bubble around our house that extends outside to the front or back porch and yard. The connection is stable in all areas and the speed is much faster than the system we replaced that we thought was fast, until it started dropping the wifi signal after only 18 months. Now my son can host games online while my daughter is streaming movies and I am connected to a WebEx meeting, without any issues at all. I also like the way the units look on the shelf. Great job! I wish I had found it sooner.

Better WiFi

First off I had an apple extreme and it did its job for the time I had it. When I decided to add Ring cameras to outside of my house that's when things started to wrong. Signal strength with the apple extreme was good but had problems when it came to getting the signal outside. So I did some research and comparisons with Linksys, eero and Netgear. All them are very well made, but I decided to go with NETGEAR - Orbi AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (2-pack) for my house. What a difference it made. I have no problems connecting to live view with the ring cameras now. I have Cox Gigablast and with the apple WiFi I was download around 400mbps. Now with Netgear Orbi I'm averaging 510mbps WiFi and getting around 843mbps hardwired. So happy that I went with Netgear. Thanks Netgear for making an awesome product.

Good WiFi system

Prior to getting the Orbi WiFi system I purchased an all in one modem/router for just a little less than what I payed for the Orbi. It was a top of the line system but still had gaps in coverage of signal. Tried rang extenders but didn't like the fact of having to go between networks depending on where I was. Tried the wall outlet line system. Was cheaper but still I was not satisfied with the service. So I tried the Orbi. All I can say is WOW!!! Easy to install with just a cheap modem. Synced the satellites with the main and I have great sygnal and servive no matter where I am on my entire property. It's great. The network is secure and can still allow guest networks to run also. I am very satisfied overall and would highly recommend anyone looking to get WiFi to look into this system. You won't be sorry.

good once functioning

I am a senior manager for an IT division in a fortune 500 company. The set up was not as easy as advertised. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I have been through the set up and testing of two other competitor mesh wireless systems and this was by far the most complicated. I am still unsure if the placement of the 3 satellite units is optimal. I only say this because accessing the router via the web gui (NOT THE APP) shows suboptimal performance on one of the units while the app shows as no issue. Also, the default security ruleset may prove to be problematic for some end users. The blocking of wireless devices when moving the wifi antenna to a new computer is a bit annoying. All in all a solid performer, now that its running, but still need to do more testing on the port forwarding and other advanced features.
