Solid Router
on May 29, 2019

Setting up the router was fairly painless but I would certainly recommend using the Orbi app instead of a web browser. This is the second one I've setup and the app simplified the process while walking between the main router and the satellite. Once everything was running I found the signal to be much better than the signal from the router AT&T provided. We stream our TV service and the AT&T router didn't seem to keep up. We still have buffering issues but they are far fewer. If you aren't familiar with firewall settings I would definitely get help. I don't find it terribly complicated but other (less tech savvy) people I talk to find it intimidating. Overall, this seems to be a solid router and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to cover a large area.

Orbi or Not to Orbi, that is the question
on May 29, 2019

I needed something reliable that would cover two stories of our apt after we realized the standard service provider equipment wasn't cutting it. We had frustrating patchy coverage. I was recommended Orbi by the actual service provider call center even though it went against their company equipment. So I knew he was being genuine. After researching I took the plunge. Gotta say I'm so happy I did, we now have solid stable coverage across the whole house, both floors. The design blends in much better than the ugly previous black boxes and most importantly it was easy to set up, rename and create passwords. I also like the functions on the mobile app, testing speed and seeing connected devices in one app is handy. So, the answer to the question is, yes you should Orbi.

Excellent WiFi expansion

Our home always had trouble with WiFi reaching the more distant places of our home as well as with speed due to multiple devices sharing the same WiFi. After Orbi home mesh network WiFi with extenders, my family of 8 now has perfect WiFi connection throughout the entire house!! Everyone is able to get WiFi without cramming into 'hot spots' and no more checking/'hassling' how many devices are sharing the WiFi!! Everyone is so happy with the new WiFi and I am happy to hear no more WiFi complaints! Hands down, BEST investment for our family ever!! What's even better is for all the high tech people out there is all the information you are able to see when you log in online! Would def recommend to all my family and friends! Thanks Orbi, can't thank you enough!

Like I've Never Had Wi-Fi Before

Got tired of getting only two bars (on a good day) on my IPhone thru my old Linksys router and decided to upgrade. Decided on the Orbi 2200 because it was advertised to cover up to 5K sq. ft. My home is 3600, so I figured better more coverage than less. I also installed it myself with a little help from COMCAST technical. The satellites simply plug into the wall. I also needed the coverage for my newly installed Ring Floodlight Cam, which would barely operate (badly) with my former system. WOW, what a difference! I get three bars of coverage anywhere in my house, as well as getting a good signal to my camera. I wish I had installed this product earlier! Now I no longer have problems with streaming movies, my iPhone or security. This ORBI system is highly recommended!

Orbi review

The set up was somewhat confusing and it took me sometime before I was able to connect this system to my internet. Once I crossed this hurdle, this is an amazing system. It is a triband system. My current internet WiFi speed went above 100mbs instantly. This was 3 times higher download and upload speed. You can operate and manage your WiFi network using orbi app on iPhone. The satellite unit covers all my house that is more than 5000 square feet and I can even get WiFi in my backyard as well as on my driveway without any interruptions. The satellite units are somewhat bigger in size but they look phenomenal when you plug them. I have used google WiFi system in past but this is far best system I have used so far. I would highly recommend it for residential use.

Orbi Mesh Wi-Fi
on May 29, 2019

Bought the ORBi with three satellites for 8,000 sq ft of coverage. Full coverage from one end to the other of a single story ranch style house. We had buffering issues in the past with the traditional single router set up when the microwave went on in our kitchen using near by TV. Also, at the other end of our house you have to position the Roku unit in a specific area for it to work due to the weak signal strength. All those issues are history with the ORBI. I just installed a SimpliSafe alarm w 65 Wi-Fi sensors and it has not dropped a single device including multiple cameras. The entire set-up was fast and straight forward that even I could do it. Very pleased with the entire system. It is like having four Wi-Fi routers in your home which is exactly what we needed.

Excellent & Easy. Netgear does it again.

I needed a solution for a two-story dwelling with a lot of concrete walls. I found it with Orbi. I deal with a lot of propertoes and Netgear is my go to because it just works. After swapping out routers (Lynksys, Cisco, D-Link) over the years, I found the Nighthawk and I LOVE it. The Orbi is the same. Set-up was easy. I had to find the sweet spot for the plug-in extender (which they call the satellite) but once I found it, the router wifi worked throughout the upper floor of a mostly concrete home. Even downstairs, the service worked on the outside of the building. I may need an extra satellite for the inside of the lower apartment, but adding them on is super simple. I also love the remote management capability. I can view status from miles away on my phone. Good stuff.

Easy to set up

I already own the Netgear Nighthawk router but wanted to upgrade to something that could extend my home network to faraway corners of the house without having to buy an extender and naming it to a second network. The Netgear Orbi solved my problem and was surprisingly simple to set up like its other routers. I can do the basic network customizations for beginners or go advance for the technology pros. I bought the RBK40 system which reaches up to 4,000 square feet and comes with the RBR40 AC2200 router and RBS40 satellite (the extender). I love that both have LAN ports so I can connect any devices that don't have wi-fi connection. I used to have a very weak wi-fi signal in my front yard, now I have strong connection all thanks to the extender satellite and its portability.
