Great Router

I have a center hall colonial about 4,000 sq ft. Typically I have trouble in the basement and the far reaches of the house. Not with the Orbi though.
I placed the main unit near the back center of the house on the main floor, with one satellite upstairs above the main unit, and the other satellite near the steps going down to the basement. The basement satellite gets "poor" reception, but access downstairs is still great.
I no longer have trouble in any area of the house. I even have access out by the pool.
Configuration was perfect. I did not use the Android app, instead going to 192.168.1.1. I was able to enter all my custom configurations, including a range for my port forwarding.
Kudos to Netgear for a great router!

Ah-Mazing

I mean I can't think of a single negative aspect. Hence the 5 out of 5 stars. Set up is easier and faster than making a sandwich. And I'm a sandwich ninja. Certified. Anyway, so this thing is absolutely amazing! My router/modem is located in our basement where the kids sleep (no it's not a dungeon, it's finished with cool stuff like a ping pong table and peace on earth) and upstairs was not getting a good WiFi signal at all. Pretty much useless. Once I installed the Orbi, the clouds parted and I heard angels singing "Whyyyyyy Fiiiiiiiiii". Life has returned to the upstairs area, the darkness has been lifted. I can now stream 1080 HD videos about food once again. (Sandwiches of course) - Thank you Orbi 1 Kenobi, you were my only hope.

The WiFi system I've been waiting for

This system lives up to what the product says it can do. My home is multi-level and 3600 sq ft. I have coverage everywhere even out back in my shop. The speeds I get now are faster than they have ever been. I pay for 100 mbps and the speed tests consistently show 115 mbps even while 2 TVs are streaming 4K. I also have young children and the parental controls are amazing. They love watching YouTube and the controls do a great job at filtering out illicit content. The guest access is also another great feature, i like turning that on for guests so I don't have to give out my network key. I am extremely happy with my Orbi and one satellite. I may purchase another satellite to extend my range so I can stream music while mowing the yard.

Orbi WiFi system

Easy to set up. Took about 30 minutes. Excellent coverage for a 5000 sq ft home. No dropped events, even with heavy use - 3 game systems, multiple cell phones, tablets, laptops, rokus, fire sticks. Main unit and satellites are basically unnoticed sitting on various shelves throughout the house. My kids are thrilled with how fast their games load on the PS4 and X Boxes. Netflix loads promptly on smart TV and all devices and NO interruption during movies. Love having only 1 WiFi name (as opposed to multiple _EXT with the 2 extenders I had to use to get a signal to all parts of the house). Had dropped wifi signals all the time with the extenders. Haven't heard "Mom! The wifi isn't working!!" once since installing the Orbi. Well worth the price.

Significant improvement!

This system is a significant improvement from our very outdated router. I didn't realize how fast my internet service was until we upgraded to this system! It was easy to install using the app - make sure you complete all steps in the set up (even after it redirects you to Netgear website) on the app! We didn't understand why we didn't have internet until we realized there was one more step in the app to complete. After that it was all set up. My sister is an Android user (the rest of the house is Apple) and she has experienced some dropping of the connection to the system. After reconnecting there are no issues. We have 13 devices connected at most times, no lag or buffering! Very happy with the product and would buy again/recommend!

It Works!!

We recently moved into an older house with walls made of plaster, on top of which drywall has been installed, and there may be insulation inside them, too. It's only 2000 sq ft, but we tried several routers and router/multiplier systems, including another Netgear router. Orbi is the only one that works for us. I work from home, video conferencing daily. The affordable and logical place for our router is in the living room, where the Spectrum/Charter cable enters the house. The only logical room for my office is at exactly the opposite end of the house. I am consistently getting a 60db signal and 22mbs upload,135mbs download speeds in my office. I'm VERY HAPPY with the Orbi 2200. My wife and kids are enjoying the excellent coverage and speeds, too.

Good System

Overall very happy with Orbi.
Biggest Benefits:
- The wifi strength, as expected, is amazing in a big house and my full lot (9000 sq ft).
- The overall "zippiness" of internet on things like phones and laptops is much much much better than ISP supplied wifi gateway. It truly does make a difference.
- By far the most configuration options of mesh routers. Has most of the standard netgear features of normal routers. Compared to other Mesh routers, they tend to over simplify the config. I.E., I can do QoS with Orbi but not other mesh routers.

Cons:

Solved my problem.

The Orbi system was just what the doctor ordered. We were moving my Wife's Office from the Kitchen table to the Patio Room. Wifi reception was very poor. Plus we had interference with the neighboring houses and their wifi signals. I watched a lot of comparisons on You Tube. I liked the idea of satellites in different parts of the house. Also with 4 TV's using Roku I noticed things getting slower.
I ordered the Orbi's and added a much better router to update everything for future needs. The result was fantastic. With one satellite in her Office. The Roku and her laptop were maxed out in reception for wifi. The picture on the televisions is so crisp and no more lagging.
I am not a computer geek but this really worked for me.
