Better Home Coverage Now
on May 29, 2019

After purchasing the Orbi system that covers 5000 sq.ft., my overall WIFI coverage has improved greatly. With multiple devices running on an old router, there was way too much lag time. After adding Orbi to our home, now we have no delays with any of our smart devices. Previously read reviews stated it was too difficult to set up, I never had any problems. I'm not the smartest when it comes to technology, but just following the instructions was all I needed. All 5 of us are happy now, and no one is getting kicked off the internet and no one is screaming for others to turn off their WIFI so they can do homework, regular work, or just watch TV. Thanks Orbi. Wished we would have done this sooner.

Powerful Wi-Fi System
on May 29, 2019

This Orbi Wi-Fi System was easy to install. Mating it with our existing modem and finding a convenient spot in the house for the satellite was a snap. I then used my smartphone to follow instructions to quickly get the system functional. I was up and running in less than an hour. The Orbi's signal is strong and shows on my smartphone as 'EXCELLENT' in all areas of my 3-story 3200 sq. ft. house except for one small corner of my basement where the signal is "GOOD". The transmission speed of information through my Orbi wi-fi system is lightning fast as compared to sluggish, at best, on my previous system. In summary, I am very pleased with how easy the installation went and how fast the system functions.

Speed is better than ever!

The Orbi system is fabulous. To be honest'” installation was tricky since I don't believe the Orbie system was designed specifically for the ISP I currently have (Frontier). I was able to read internet troubleshooting sites that suggested turning off the wireless broadcasting signal of the Frontier modem and setting the Orbi router and satellites to AP mode. Once I made these changes I had a great functioning system. But I do understand networking and the system wasn't quite as 'plug n play' as advertized. After making these configuration changes, I now have 90-100 MB download and upload network speeds so I'm thrilled. The Orbi system replaced an Apple AirPort Extreme and an Airport Express.

great product

Our original wifi system was put in by a professional installer. Due to our plaster walls we were told we had to have multiple access points with different logins for each access in order to cover our whole house. We had multiple dead zones with this system. After reading about the Orbi I decided to install myself and try it. It woks like a dream. I was able to use some of the wired access points for the satellites and the others I used with the wireless access. No more dead spots and we have ONE LOGIN. Everything is working seamlessly and I now have coverage in all 14000 square feet. And the coverage reaches our security cameras surrounding the house. I can not recommend this product highly enough.

dead simple with no spots

i have a 1500 sqft house, rectangle style. it's quite long. my office in the garage at one end and the kids bed rooms are at the other. i originally used 3x unifi ac mesh APs. but the speed was pretty poor in the bedrooms. connection rate was 11mbps. i then switch them from being in mesh mode (which dropped weekly) to powerline. it's an old house with old wiring (1940s). the best i could get in the back was 60mbps through the powerline. the Netgear orbi rbr40 with a rbw30 give me double the coverage, with a connection rate of 433 mbps the bedrooms. in a month it hasn't dropped or hiccuped. i can sustain 30Mbps. its fantastic. its dead simple to setup to.if you have a long house, the netgear orbi is for you.

Simple & Elegant

This is the first non Apple wireless router I've ever owned. I like the simplicity of the Apple base stations. But this was just as easy if not easier, it's elegant and set up in a breeze! The range extender is a breeze and honestly everything in the house runs better connected to the Orbi. Plug it in, connect to it, create a password and start surfing and downloading.
Much faster downloads and it looks nice sitting on the desk. The only think I've noticed, and this may take a little time for to adjust, is that waking a computer up it's not immediately connected. I had that to a point in one computer with the Apple, but seem to notice it more with Orbi. Not a deterrent by any means, more of an FYI.

Excellent Router

am a big fan of Orbi. I have this as my home network and bought this as a second satellite for the house. This gave me the final bit of coverage I never seemed to get with a single WiFi router. Set up for the whole system took about an hour and was fairly straightforward, much easier than the early model WiFi routers. I have had the Orbi system for about 8 months and in that time it has disconnected from our cable modem probably 3 times, but it always seems to fix itself with no interference from me. Makes me think the cable router was down for whatever reason and once it was back online the Orbi came back online. They are on the expensive side, but it does alleviate the coverage issues we have had in the past.

Fantastic for townhomes

I was using a mix of wifi APs before I bought orbi to get wifi throughout my townhome. The frustration with that was often times my phone/laptop wouldn't switch between antennas as I moved between floors and there would be deadzones that I just couldn't fix as my house wasn't hardwired for internet. After my roomates pestered me enough I ended up purchasing an Orbi Wifi System and its solved all of those issues. No more deadzones, I get a solid 250-300 Mbps throughout my home and I don't have to stop and manually switch to a stronger signal. The setup was straightforward as well, just plug in the base module and configure it through the app and then the other two APs will autoconnect to it within a minute or so.
