Replaced Velop setup with Netgear Orbi

It was time to replace my aging Apple Airport Time Capsule. I purchased a Linksys Velop 3-node mesh WiFi system. After months of dropped connections, persistent buffering interruptions watching movies on AppleTV '¦ and seeing my 300 Mbps speeds degrade +/-10 Mbps '¦ I had enough. I purchased a Netgear Orbi AC2200 4-pack. Setup was easy. Internet speeds consistently reflect my 300 Mbps Xfinity service. WiFi range throughout my 3,200 sq ft home is perfect with no dead spots or weak signals. AND '¦ I can now watch 4k movies on AppleTV and Netflix without ANY buffering. I highly recommend the Orbi system.

Wifi Blanket

This Netgear Orbi with satellite has positively transformed my in home wifi expierence. The setup was extremely simple and the results have been amazing. Previously, i have always used 2 different ssid's for 2.4 ghz and 5.0ghz bands and had to switch between the two as i moved from one area of my house to another in order to maintain signal strength. Now with the Netgear Orbi system, I have one ssid that literally blankets my entire home with exceptional wifi coverage and no need for a complicated band switching when signals get weak. This system just plain works and is so easy to install. I love it. Thanks

I had another Netgear WiFi system before the Orbi and liked it. The issues was that it dropped certain devices off the network frequently. It wasn't annoying enough to switch though. I switched to the Orbi so that I could better manage my teenagers' multiple devices without buying a monthly subscription. With the Orbi I was able to easily block sites and I can block specific devices from the network with a click of the mouse. The only draw back about blocking specific sites is that the scheduling function is useless for what I need it for, so I've essentially had to block the entire household from the sites.

Works as advertised

For years I relied on an Apple Time Capsule for my townhouse wifi but frequently had signal strength issues on the bottom floor. Trying to expand my network with an AirPort Express cut down on my speeds even more. I read that Orbi's mesh technology would result in noticeably increased speeds and that has 100% been the case. The speeds on the floor sharing my main router are as consistent and strong as ever and on the bottom floor my speeds are 20+ times faster. Only difficulty I ran into was during setup when the iOS crashed and required a couple of full resets of the router to get the network up and running.

FAAAAAAAAAAAST

I recently had a lightning strike take out my router and my Airport Express so I was in the market for a new WiFi system and wanted to go with a mesh setup. Having read great reviews of the Orbi, I decided to give it a go. While the setup was not the simplest thing, the results are irrefutable. I now have a blanket of WiFi covering the house and out into my back yard and am getting speeds far faster than I ever got with my Airport Express, even when sitting only a few feet away. I am basically pulling 99% of my Comcast limit all the time. Everything is more responsive and no more random 1-2 second "hiccups". WIN.

Incredibly Awesome

With my old system, I was pulling approximately 23mb/sec. With the Orbi, I am pulling right around 118mb/sec. Buffering happens, on occasion, but very rarely. I am now able to stream movies and tv programs with little to no hassle. It no longer takes an hour and 25 minutes to stream a one hour show. I am incredibly impressed, and am so thankful for this product. Although I bought a new modem to accompany my Orbi, it was well worth the money spent. It didn't break the bank, but was a little more than I would have paid with other systems. Well worth it. Do your research. Read the reviews. You'll be glad you did.

High Powered Routing Simplified

Upgraded routing technology to mesh network with the Orbi base plus two satellites to cover our home. This device was incredibly simple to setup, configure, and manage. Since installing, we've been able to streamline our mobile speed tests (built into the app), manage connected devices, and more. Those looking for advanced routing management capabilities can also do so via the control panel. Highly recommend to others if they want to get the speeds they are supposed to obtain through their ISP, enhanced security and peace of mind, as well as simplified and/or advanced wireless networking management capabilities.

Awesome for families

After a conversation with my kids, I realized I needed to upgrade our internet and it's ability to filter out content that kids don't need to see. I researched a lot of systems and landed on the Orbi Mesh System primarily for it's Parental Controls. It comes with Circle Disney which allows me as a parent to filter what my kids are allowed to see online. This brings comfort to me knowing my kids won't see inappropriate things. If you're looking for faster internet throughout your home plus great filtering for your kids, this is the product for you. While it's not the cheapest system out there, it's worth every penny!
