Great whole-house router

I replaced a 5+ year old Airport with this Netgear Orbi and I'm very pleased with how it works. I have more than 20 devices connected from a thermostat to Wemo switches to tablets, TVs and 4 Echos and this router handles them all with no problem. One base station and one plug-in satellite covers my approximately 2500 sq ft house. The router was simple to set up and the down-loaded app makes it easy to operate and monitor.

BEST HOME WI-FI

I have other wireless router before from other well know companies but none of them performs like the Netgear Orbi mesh Wi-Fi. It gave me all the coverage I need from any corner of the house. No more dead spots and blazing internet speed using Fios. It also sync all my wireless security system like Nest, Google home hub, mini and other automated lighting system. Don't settle for less, get the best...Netgear Orbi is the key

My new Orbi seems to be working fine, however, I have a question about speed measurement. Speed check on the Ookla speed test on the Orbi app shows 115mbps consistently, however, if I go to the Ookla Speed Test site to do the speed test, I test consistently at 40-45mbps. My 5 star rating is for 115mbps but if the speed test online by the same company is accurate, you get 0 stars and I plan to return the device. Please advise.

Outstanding Product

Moved into a new house and had a couple dead zones that I was looking to fix. A couple coworkers of mine mentioned how great this was and how it had a simple setup. I was a bit skeptical at first, but I was up and running 20 min after getting the kit. Been using it for a couple months now and haven't had any issues. Coverage is great and the speeds that i'm getting on all my devices is great as well! Definitely worth the buy!

Orbi WiFi

I bought this product to replace my previous Belkin and Netgear range extender set up. The Orbi system has a primary router and one plug in outlet extender, so I basically swapped one system for the other. It's literally night and day in terms of the connectivity, strength, and speed of signal. No more dropped WiFi, no more dead zones in the house, and no issues with slow streaming. I highly recommend the Orbi system.

I am an internet engineer and had hoped to replace three networks in my old New England house. The RBK40 has done an excellent job. and I now have just the one network name. Coverage is much improved vs. two previous wi-fi routers. Getting the firmware update is a troublesome as everyone documents, but go ahead and buy this system anyway. I had to manually install the firmware, but after that it is faster than I had expected.

We updated our wifi to the Orbi Wifi system, and it's been nothing but wonderful. We have a four level house that includes two separate basements and with one Orbi satellite we have 100% coverage in the whole house (2,500 square feet; even on the deck and in the garage!) I researched for a month before deciding on the Orbi over Linksys, eero, and Google. So far, so good! Highly recommend for homes with lots of area to cover.

We switched from a different mesh system that is very common mostly due to issues we were having with AT&T WiFi calling not being fully supported. That problem is gone with the Orbi system. The satellites also have longer range than the previous system. I was able to move the satellites farther from the base and get more coverage with the same number of satellites. So far, then system has been perfectly reliable and quick.
