Good Looking! Sounds Just Okay

I bought this a month ago, looks good. Volume is a little touchy. The sound quality is nothing to write home about. Subtle buzzing at certain volumes. Fair enough for the price.

Great sound from my computer

Bought these to upgrade the speakers that came with the monitor. Glad I did! While these are not stereo/theater system quality, they more than suffice for my computer system. Crisp highs and a booming low balance the speakers nicely. A true audiophile will miss some of the mid-low range, but the speakers are not tinny in any way.
I read a review that complained the wires were too short. I found that I had more than enough length to place them above a 28" monitor with a 34" desk height (sub woofer sits on floor beneath desk). My only complaint is not having an on/off switch on one of the satellite speakers (on the back/bottom of the sub woofer). I did a work around by plugging into switched strip that I shut off from the side of the desk.

Great Sound, Great Look

The sounds is really great on these, and the look is unparalleled. That said, I do wish there was a way to tell what the volume level was at *before* you played something. Also, being able to know where in the volume range your touch (on the right side control) was at would also be of help (either through small LED indicators or something - even software monitoring controls would be helpful). It would also have been a MUCH better design if the cords were all simple jacks, not integrated. Makes it difficult (if not impossible) to replace, should any get damaged (and at the cost, replacing cords is a MUST! *VERY* disappointed in this aspect). Despite that rather critical failing (which all lower-priced 2.1 systems I've seen also have), I decided to go with this because of HK's reputation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

From the start, I had problems with the speakers. At first they just didn't work and I was upset. I then began to move them around and grabbed the right speaker at it's base and cord and pushed down, and the volume increased and they started to work, so I left them alone. They worked for a while then one day stopped again. I had to repeat but the second I time was more involved then above. I feel like returning them but have too much going on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked great, until one of the sticks crackles

Had this a while, and it worked great until one of the soundsticks started crackling, even when no sound was being transmitted. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Always wanted a pair of these. Formerly in the recording industry, I knew that these recover the sound "as it was recorded". If you are an audiophile, you'll love it. Deep and rich, clean sound. Secret: If you have hardwood floors, place the bass unit on the floor, to boost the resonance!

I would never have guessed the sound these things can produce! I like to listen to the computer now!. EXCELLENT value for the quality. Looks..the sticks are cool, bass unit...could be better..maybe colored , not clear? Overall I like them very much.
