Close shave without irritation

After receiving a free demo of the Philips Norelco Series 3000 Shaver 3500 to review, I have come to the conclusion that this is a solid, convenient, quality product. The shaver provides a very close shave; closer than I get with a razor actually. I have a coarse beard combined with sensitive skin, but this shaver gave me a close, comfortable shave without irritation. One of the things that I like best about it is that it`s waterproof; you can take it in the shower, or use a shave lubricant to get a close comfortable shave. The one time I used it dry my skin was a little itchy, so if you have sensitive skin dry shaving probably isn`t the best practice (regardless of shaving implement). It works right out of the box and has a charging indicator light that tells you when you have a full charge or enough juice for a quick shave. Battery life is good; I have shaved 4x and haven`t needed to recharge it yet. One feature I like, but feel leaves you wanting more is the flip up hair trimmer. It is nice to clean up lines (neck, beard), but it isn`t very powerful, so you might have to go over the same area a few times to get all of the hair. That being said, if you need to trim up a neck line or beard line, you can do it with this shaver. I expected to have trouble with hard-to-reach areas like under the nose, but the shaver is flexible and can get those whiskers without much trouble. To clean it after use, you can just run it under the sink and leave open to dry. Overall, I recommend this product if you`re in the market for an electric shaver. I have been pleasantly surprised with how ease and comfort this shaver provides.
Pros: waterproof, easy to clean, irritation-free
Cons: flip-up trimmer is weak

The most comfortable electric shave

Overall, this is a very good shaver. I would only improve on the closeness of the shave. It provides an extremely comfortable shave, is comfortable to hold, has excellent battery life, and is easy to clean and maintain. Charge time for the batteries is not too long. The pop-out trimmer also works great. I should also mention that I received this Philips Norelco Series 3500 shaver as a free sample to use for this review. On the downside, the shave is not quite as close as a different Norelco shaver I have used, but that model is NOT as comfortable as the 3500. In my experience, there seems to be some give and take between the comfort of a shave vs. the closeness. The 3500 shaver would be ideal for anyone who travels, has sensitive skin, or is looking for a comfortable shave.
Pros: comfortable, battery life, easy to use
Cons: not the closest shave available

I had to return shaver

Last time I tried electric shavers was 20 years ago and it didn't work for me (skin irritation and lousy performance) . A friend of mine recommended this particular model saying that I should give it a try because it does a wonderful job comparable to conventional razors. Well, it doesn't. Especially below the chin it's unable to lift and cut hair to my satisfaction. Also, I have a partial beard and it's virtually impossible to make a neat shaped edge. The built in trimmer is a joke. My skin gets irritated too because I keep coming back to areas already shaved to get desired smoothness. I'm disappointed that I haven't seen any performance improvements. After two decades it all looks the same. As opposed to computers, appliances, cars etc.
Pros: battery charging is quick.
Cons: closeness of shave is not satisfactory., built in trimmer doesn't do much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product with a bonus

As part of a sampling program, I was sent a free sample though it does not affect my review for this product in any shape or form.
I've previously owned and used the Norelco AT810 so when the opportunity presented to use the 3600, I was elated.
And my elation was not misplaced since the 3600 is lighter and holds more charge than its predecessor. The shave is close and may require an extra pass or two over intense growth.
The best part of the new shaver is the stubble guard, which allows you to trim your stubble and keep it clean.
In summary, if you're looking for a workhorse of a shaver with nice touch to keep your stubble clean, I would recommend this shaver.
Pros: stubble guard, battery life, norelco
