Delicious Coffee, Unreliable Machine

Let me be clear: when the Nespresso Vertuo Next was working, it was a dream. It brewed a variety of coffee styles with ease, from bold espresso to smooth coffee drinks and include my favorites, Odacio and Altisso. It quickly became an essential part of our daily ritual.
However, there's a concerning catch. My machine failed within the first few months, and while Nespresso promptly replaced it. After a little over two years, the replacement just recently died as well. A flashing red light became my unwelcome companion, and no amount of troubleshooting, including everything I could find online, could revive it.
Here's the kicker: a quick internet search reveals many other users reporting similar short lifespans and malfunctions with the Vertuo Next.
Ultimately, I had to say goodbye to the Vertuo Next and opted for the Vertuo Plus in hopes of better luck. While the Vertuo Next delivered undeniably good coffee, its short lifespan and reported reliability issues cast a shadow over its overall value. If you're considering this machine, be aware of this potential drawback and weigh it against the convenience and delicious coffee it can produce.

Orange light of death

This is our second machine as our first one broke in less than a year and now this one also has the same issues. The orange blinking light. I’ve fought with this machine more than I can handle. I’ve done all of the cleaning, descaling, troubleshooting, toothpick detail cleaning, etc. I’m so tired of paying for pods that go to waste after trying to brew a cup 5 times and the orange light blinking twice after unplugging, detail cleaning around where it punctures and reads the capsule, running water through. We do not know what to do for coffee now. We don’t like K-cup coffee and didn’t do well with a normal coffee pot as we like different things. Super disappointed.

Disappointing

I’ve had this machine for maybe a year of two. I’ve made probably about 20 cups of coffee in it since. It was a gift, the machine has stopped working and it it’s still in good shape as if I just bought it. This is the worst coffee machine ever it won’t pump water through to dispense the coffee

Don’t waste your money

Bought this about a year and a half ago after trying it at a family members house. Bit costly compared to your regular pod machines but coffee was good and wife was hooked so decided to try it. Given the higher priced pods as well this machine was lightly used only on weekends as a treat. Now, 18 months later the machine doesn’t work, no one can tell us why, and I’m stuck with maybe 100 pods I can’t use or return. All this trouble and to Nespresso it’s only worth an extra 10% off another machine. What a joke.

Horrible Machine

The original machine I bought needed to be replaced only after 1 year of using it only during the weekends. The replacement also started to give problems after less than a year. I sent it for “repair” and it is broken again after brewing just 3 cups of coffee. Don’t buy this machine, it is absolutely the worst. And Nespresso shouldn’t be allowed to sell these machines anymore. It is basically just a scam.
I’ve spent I don’t know home many hours on the video phone from Nespresso trying to troubleshoot it. Now basically Nespresso is not responsible for this horrible made machine and the option is just PAY for a new one on a “discounted price”, NO WAY I AM SPENDING MY MONEY AGAIN ON NESPRESSO

Great Cup of Coffee - When it Works

This machine produces a great cup of coffee - when it works. You need to expect to get a year, maybe two out of it before it fails and needs replacing. I’m on my 3d machine in 3 years. The first failed because the optical mechanism that reads the coffee pods failed. The second got stuck in the descaling mode and just gave me the dreaded orange flashing light you’ll read about in other reviews. The machine just isn’t built well enough to handle daily use, which is a pity. I stick with it because the coffee is so good not because I’m mentally defective. Besides, in my experience most coffee makers aren’t up to the task any more anyway. It’s a choice between which defective machine gives you the best coffee for the longest period of time, in my opinion.

Great…when it works

This machine makes delicious coffee; when it works. We’ve had this machine for 1.5 years and now we are having problem everyday. Constant yellow or red flashing lights. We keep cleaning and descaling and the late will not stop flashing. At this point we are just wasting pods trying to get the thing to work.

I love my machine so much! I purchased a second for when I’m at my boyfriend’s and one for my mom! It’s so good, it’s replaced my Starbucks runs!
