stopped working after 6 months w/ weekly cleaning

I loved the new design of the machine, the taste of the coffee & purchased 2 new machines as gifts for loved ones. I used it every day, so I cleaned it every Sunday at noon. When the light came on to descale it, disaster ensued. I followed all of the instructions & it wouldn't re-set. Descaled a 2nd time & it was just dead. Super bummed out & keep coming back to the site to buy another, but just can't complete the check out because I'm afraid I'm wasting my $. Previous original machine lasted 6 years without a single issue. Stuck with 6 months worth of capsules bc I planned ahead due to supply chain issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleaning/Descaling

I almost love this coffee pot, but the descaling/rinsing process is too complicated. I know there are many different models now compared to in the beginning, so one must first be sure they have the right instructions. Then one has to distinguish between the lever and the button. OK, why does it take so long for it to run through cleaning? I always multi-task and lose my place in the instructions. I prefer written instructions to videos. Would it be possible to just have a “Descaling Mode” button? So then we would have an on off button and the descaling button (which can either be a rinsing with plain water or with the descaling solution. I still love the coffee with froth on top, though.

Do Not Buy!!!!

I bought this machine about 1 1/2 years ago and now it won't power on. After troubleshooting via video call with Nespresso, it was determined that it was dead. They offered me a 35% discount on another Vertuo Plus, which would equate to only a 5% discount (because they are on sale on the website for 30% off). This is very disappointing because I loved the taste of the coffee. This was an expensive machine and should have lasted for years longer! This seems to be a known issue. I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the Vertuo. Poor company policy!!!

Broken within 18 months no Warrenty

I would not recommend this verturo machine. It is so loud and broke with 18 months. No warranty . Super expensive to buy pods and a new machine every 18 months.

Good but moldy

I had this machine for almost a year and I love brewing espresso shots for my lattes! However, I do everything to maintain the machine when it comes to cleaning the tank, capsule container, inside, etc. I descale it often with the kit from the website and do weekly rinses/cleaning, as well as making sure the capsule is taken out after every brew to prevent the needles to clog. I noticed that there is mold in the machine like the sides of the walls when you open it and I have done everything from hydrogen peroxide to vinegar to try to make it come off. It will not come off and I believe it is defective because it is not cleaning properly even with my proper care and customer service will not do anything about it but to tell me to buy another one or use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. The machine is still under warranty but they do not want to repair or replace it. When buying a premium machine, you expect it to work properly and for the customer service to be good, however, it is not the case and I am extremely disappointed with the machine and how they are handling the situation.

For general maintenance, you may wipe down the inside of your VertuoPlus machine with a damp cloth, or use a soft bristle toothbrush to clear any coffee grinds from within the head of the machine.

From the sound of it, your machine may need a cleaning and descaling, which we recommend every 3 months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first, to remove internal mineral deposit that can build up, which can affect the flow, temperature and overall performance of your machine. So far so good after two weeks

So far Ive really enjoyed the outstanding coffee. I like that I can make pretty nice lattes with the aerochino . It is NOISY though! holy moley its like a train running thru my kitchen. Another minor annoyance is it doesn't sense low water like my Keurig did. when It runs out of water it brews a partial cup and sounds like its going to explode.
Why doesn't the plus brew the 12 ounce XL cups? I received the machine as a gift and it seems like its one of the higher end machines but it is less capable than the Pop. It doesn't make sense to exclude that capability
