I got this machine 2 years ago and after 1 year it stopped working where the button just stopped working. But before that it was already getting impossible to lock where I kept wasting my pods to try to lock it or get the button to work. They sent me a replacement of the same machine...now its been a year and I am again having the SAME issue with the locking mechanism. I hurt my hands trying to close the machine, I follow all the cleaning steps and run the cleaning cycle frequently as well. But you have to use all your strength to close it, which leads me to the fact that my parents are elderly and are unable to use it due to force you need to use to close the machine. I called again, they wanted to do a video troubleshooting again, and want to resend me the SAME MACHINE. This machine should not even be on the market anymore, I see it on sale at those discount stores all time.. gee I wonder why. I wanted to love Nespresso but honestly at this point, I would skip Nespresso altogether and just buy an actual espresso machine. Sure its convenient but this machine is not worth the trouble.

This machine has broken twice

I purchased this machine March of 2021. It starting leaking coffee out the back of the machine and flooding the counter within the first year. I called customer service and since it was still under warranty, Nespresso sent a replacement. The replacement machine stopped working after only a few months. It just flashes orange twice and doesn't work. I've tried various forms of troubleshooting: the manual, watching YouTube videos from Nespresso and various users, nothing works. Not even factory reset. It won't enter descale mode in order to try to clean it either. This is an extremely frustrating machine. It's a shame because I love Nespresso but the quality of their machines seems to vary wildly depending on the model and they all seem to have short lives. I had a different model prior to this one that worked for longer (maybe 2 years?) but that first one ended up breaking eventually as well. It makes me want to quit Nespresso having so many mechanical issues constantly.

Love my machines

I see so many reviews that are low and need to add something positive. I am on my 3 machines, started with the original, Citiz and then moved to the Vertuo Chrome and now own the Vertuo Next. All my mechanics are still going with regular use. I moved the Citiz to the office and gave my first Vertuo to my mom. I now use the Next every day, I clean and descale regularly, and use only filtered water. I hope more long-time users add comments to bring up the rating. I have been a Nespresso customer for more than a decade.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Try a different model

I bought this model for Christmas ‘22 and it has failed twice in 1 year. Kudos to Nespresso for replacing the machine two times. I am on to the VertuoPlus so hopefully we can see some reliability with this version. The coffee is great just need a machine that doesn’t require customer service. Would not recommend the VertuoNext.

Avoid this model!

I had this machine replaced by Nespresso before I owned it for a year because it was malfunctioning. Shortly after my original machine was replaced the same thing happened to my sister in law. Now with the 2nd machine, it’s been a little over a year and it stopped working as well. This model is a lemon. Don’t buy it - save yourself money, time, and a headache.

Broke after 6 months

Broke after six months. Machine spins and spins with no coffee coming out. Have tried all types of troubleshooting and realize a lot of people have the same issue. I do not recommend anyone buying this machine.

Leaky

Makes good coffee but not reliable. This is my second machine (first one was replaced after 2 months) and it was constantly leaking, needing to be cleaned and/or descaled before every use, and overall a poor experience. I ended up using it until it broke, but for the price, I think it should last more than 2 years.

Great coffee, terrible reliability.

I have had the machine for two months. I tried to brew a cup this morning and it wouldn’t work. I contacted Nespresso and they are going to warranty the machine. As of right now it is a 1 star review. No machine that costs this much should need replaced after two months. Hopefully the replacement machine will make it longer.
