So far so good after two weeks

So far Ive really enjoyed the outstanding coffee. I like that I can make pretty nice lattes with the aerochino . It is NOISY though! holy moley its like a train running thru my kitchen. Another minor annoyance is it doesn't sense low water like my Keurig did. when It runs out of water it brews a partial cup and sounds like its going to explode.
Why doesn't the plus brew the 12 ounce XL cups? I received the machine as a gift and it seems like its one of the higher end machines but it is less capable than the Pop. It doesn't make sense to exclude that capability
I would recommend this to a friend!

Descale is DAUNTING! It IS rocket science!

Dear Nespresso, Just give me one button to descale!! I have had my Vertuo Next for 2 years. I would have given it more than three stars... but descaling this machine is daunting! I love the machine, it understands the assignment... but descaling is a nightmare! I have watched tutorials and it does not work as it is supposed to. It is a frenzy of pushing buttons, holding them down, locking the lid, unlocking the lid... only to have it act like it is descaling without actually descaling. I have wasted all my descale sauce! When I get up in the morning, the machine blinking orange telling me it needs descaling (and it was descaled the day before) before getting my morning coffee makes me see red! I literally have to unplug the pot and plug it back in to get my one cup. You seriously need a rocket scientist to come and descale your pot. I am to the point that I want to buy another machine because this one is impossible to descale. Please let us know the steps of descaling in the sales pitch!

MINE WORKS WITH DIFFICULTY

I have gone past my one-year warranty by a month and still pleased with the results. Still, I rate the purchase as a 3. First of all, I hate having to use muscle to close the top. I'm a man and I wonder what a frail woman would do to close the lid. Second, the creature has a life of its own when it utters its sounds of groaning and flowing. This is a noisy machine. Third, (are there more), the price per pod is getting ridiculous. As I look back on my '3' ranking, I must say my VERTUO NEXT could be a lot better in so many ways. It looks cute and smart sitting on my counter with its jaws open waiting to obey my command. Then the tug-of-war with the lid, the grunts and groans as water joins with beans, and I walk around waiting for that creamy stuff to fill my cup. Would I suggest this VERTUO NEXT be purchased by a friend, no, but then where else do I send her?

Flawed machine, very good coffee if it works.

Lets get the good out of the way. The latest machine has been great at making coffee. Compared to my previous preference French Press.
The bad is first it took over 3 machines to get to that point, and now even the good machine is failing.
So let's back up,
attempt #1 - I bought a refurbished machine at first, the price was excellent. Unfortunately the water tank leaked all over my counter the first moment I filled it up. Never got to even try it. and since it was refurbished I had to buy my own pods so was stuck with the option to throw away all the pods or try another. I foolishly went with the....
#2 - After returning the first I decided to try a new machine. Opted for the Vertuo Next (same as first). This worked for 3 months and honestly in hindsight the coffee wasn't that special, more comparable to French Press It also leaked into the spent pod bin a bit (not as much as what follows). This slowly started to not-recognizing the pods anymore. I was able to limp it along with frequent cleanings, almost daily but that is a waste of energy and time, something the machine was supposed to resolve.
#3 - After contacting support, and RMA'd the machine, the next machine seemed to send too much coffee into the overflow pod bin. Coffee was flat, and it eventually just sent all the caffee to the overflow when 'brewing' getting all on the counter top. This was less than 3 weeks after receiving.
#4 - This started out great out of the box. The coffee was immediately so many times better than anything before it, exceeding most coffee shops. This is how it should have been from the get go. I took care of it, only filtered water, weekly rinse cycles if not more, descaling at least every 3 mo before prompting from the machine.... No issues for about a year. Then the same problem as #2. It just stopped recognizing pods. It rinses, cleans, descales, motor moves, but will not recognize pods.
There is no manual override on these either which is if you could may get around some of the issues. And by an override, I mean a way to force a brew parameters even when the barcode is not recognized.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Coffee Machine

I bought my machine about 8 months ago. I love, love, love my machine. I do not understand some of these poor reviews. I have great coffee every morning, and whenever I want a cup.
I would recommend this to a friend!

When it works it’s great. However it’s wasn’t even a year and I had to send it in for repair. 4 months later it broke again. So we bought the pop. It’s starting with the same no. Sense. These machines have great coffee. BUT they are not built to last and the warranty is GARBAGE. We are now considering switching to a ninja. 4 Nespresso machines later. ( within 3 years ) RIDICULOUS do better

Poor quality
