Love this product!

I love this battery! I am a huge fan of your company and your products. Thank you for making these great products. I use this battery for work and so far it is awesome. My only complaint is the cords that plug into it seem to be different then other items you guys make. I can't plug in my boulder 30 panel into it because the cable is too wide to fit into the hole. Pretty sad about that. My Escape 150 briefcase panel will work if I use the adapter. I wish all the cords were compatible. All in all though I love the new Sherpa 50!! Thank you!

We are working towards having cords all compatible without any adapters. That is the goal.

An Honest Portable Battery Pack

The design is quite simple: Plug it in to solar or wall power, and you have an honest 50 Wh at your disposal, once charged. The build quality is very good, but there is always room for improvement. I wish that were slightly more rugged for serious outdoor use. Also, it really needs to be at least water-resistant. Other than that, it is a great product!

I travel a lot. I have found myself limited to wall outlets while waiting to catch flights at crowded airports. I find having this light weight product on hand is extremely beneficial. I no longer worry about my cell phone or laptops battery life. The Sherpa 50 Power Pack holds a charge for a good period of time. I no longer stress over where to find an available outlet at airports or when using other forms of public transportation. The Sherpa 50 Power Pack has proven itself to keep all of my electronics charged up while on the go. Thank you GoalZero for this amazing product.

Sherpa 50 powers all my portable devices
on August 13, 2013

I've used this device to charge my Apple products, including: iPhone, iPad, macbook air, and macbook pro (through the inverter). As many of you Apple product owners know, Apple has very stringent power requirements - and I often find non-Apple charging devices to be incompatible despite meeting the specs on paper. Not in this case, the Sherap 50 powers them all without issue. When outdoors or camping, its a nice power source to charge my sat phone, SLR camera batteries, and rechargeable batteries for headlamps and any other small electronic device needs, in addition to a Dell laptop (with the laptop charging kit). Additionally, I also use the Light-a-life LED light in my tent, and it gives me plenty of even diffuse light to get stuff done in the dark without drawing a ton of power (so I can keep all my other power hungry devices charged). In the end, its small enough to throw in your pack for everyday use, the internal battery is high quality and power dense for its weight, and I find myself bringing it along to "non-adventureous" places because it gives me the freedom away from plugs and outlets.

Handy, great size for phone and tablet
on August 13, 2013

I frequently ride my bike in remote locations and want to have a means to charge my phone, tablet computer, bike computer, etc. This fits the bill. I usually fill it up with juice from the AC outlet, but it's nice to be able to top it off with the panel. One caveat: the output may not be quite enough to charge larger, power-hungry laptops (like the ThinkPad W series).

Got this to take on camping trips and other longer excursions in the woods. Performs great on bright sunny days. Little slower on cloudy but It's to be expected. Charges my portable Bluetooth big jam box and my galaxy 3s with plenty left over. Plug the phone in direct and save juice on the inverter. Great in. A pinch for anything that plugs in too. Highly recommended!!!!!

Goal Zero has out done themselves with this product. I don't know how they managed to put so much juice into such a small package.
Not only can it recharge laptops and tablets it also includes a small led light and 12V outlet to power up other items.
Such versatility is great going out on trips and in such a small package. I am so excited about its big brother the New SHERPA 100 as well!!!!

What really nice about this product is that it's really small and portable. I did actually buy the Sherpa 50 kit, which includes the nomad 13, the Sherpa 50, and the nomad 13. It looks cool too!
Also, one thing that I didn't know I even wanted is the amount of input power this thing can recive, meaning since the Sherpa receives DC power its actually capable of receiving higher speeds of charge compared to some other powerbanks. Like ones based off of USB , they usually receive a limit of 5volts , 4 watts. The Sherpa 50 for example, takes in 32 watts peak this is awesome when using solar, because the flow of the current is much larger and therefore causing it to recharge faster than say I would my cell phone because that's also limited to say 5-7 watts. That's wat makes using the Sherpa 50 awesome, you can take much more advantage with one of the banks to collect more power, faster.
I still haven't had a chance to use the inverter on it, I am honestly a little afraid to because its a modified sine wave, I'm not too sure if it'll damages my batteries.
Overall its an awesome product!
