works perfectly

Found myself at the florida earthskills gathering my camper and truck have solar and we had alot of people wanting to charge there phones and the kitchen needed lights to cook with and a square dance that needed lighting. In comparison between the 4 different solar systems the goal zero equipment worked better than all the rest. We had the nomad 7 and the 27 working from sun up to sundown they were put together with the sherpa 50 and the guid 10 plus, if i would of had better cables and more usb ports i am sure we could of kept up with everyone. Thank you goal zero, BTW we charged so many devices that weekend that our own phones were dead but throwing the nomad 7 on the dash of the truck took care of that.

LED Display Bad Out of Box

LED Display didn't function straight out of the box. Was flickering when removed from the box, stopped functioning completely after a 3 hour wall charge. Will be returning. Sherpa 100 purchased at the same time works fine.

Power for amateur radio Field Day
on February 10, 2015

Field Day is an event held annually that gives amateur radio operators a chance to test their mettle in emergency situations. My Sherpa 50 powered my radio for the 24 hour event, exceeding my highest expectations. Our team contacted hundreds of other operators nationwide with juice to spare. I have also used this system on the Boston Harbor Island national park campgrounds, seven miles out to sea. With this system I keep my phone, tablet, lights, cameras, and radio rocking all weekend. You can't beat the simplicity, reliability, and versatility. I have two, and I will get a couple more. Yes, they are that good.

I've been a fan of Goal Zero for the past few years, ever since I purchased a Sherpa 50 and two Nomad 20's for a recent trip to Nepal. The products worked flawlessly. I have since purchased Switch and Nomad 13 to add to my Goal Zero collection.

I've used the Sherpa 50 Kit on our Expedition in Nepal this spring and it gave us the power we needed to charge our cell and satellite phones, cameras etc. Great kit that I can recommend for anyone that need that little extra power - Solar panel also worked well and hour estimates for charging we found more or less accruate.

Short life

Sherpa 50 works well in many ways. The huge disadvantage is the swift drop in life/capacity. First it dropped down to charging up to 80%, this spring 2017. After the summer only 40%. I think it ought be more robust in this sense.

Sherpa Failed Less Than 18-months After Purchase
on December 31, 2017

I have purchased multiple Goal Zero products (Yeti 400, 4 Boulder 50s) and this Sherpa 50 in late 2015 / early 2016. I use the Yeti and Boulders on a regular basis for tailgating, camping, etc. These two products work phenomenally and I've never had an issue.
However, I've had the Sherpa 50 with inverter since early 2016 and since then the unit has been nothing but problems. Initially I purchased the item to give an additional charge to my MacBook Air and iPhone when I was off the grid. The first time I used it, it only charged the MacBook Air about 1/2 way and I got about 1-2 charges off the unit. Needless to say I was disappointed in the underperforming charge of this product. I would make sure that I properly charged the unit and used the inverter properly. Still, I could not get more of a charge.
This past August 2017, I went to use the unit and there was no charge in the unit. After trying to re-charge the unit (which I accomplished two-weeks prior with a full charge), the unit would not hold a charge. Disappointed.
