This is a perfect little tent light. I was surprised at how bright it is, especially with it being so small and lightweight. I'll definitely be taking this on my next backpacking trip.
I got three of these lights for my expedition vehicle and I can say they are awesome!Almost no draw and so much light,it's as if they should have drained my Sherpa 50 in a few hours, but to my surprise I still had 20% after 6 hours of fun time.
We mainly use our lights when we camp. We use them in the personal tents during the evening with one of the Goal Zero power units. The light uses so little power that we have never run the power unit down. We also use the in the big dining fly we use, hanging one or two over the table and that allows us to cut back on using the propane camp light that are quite bright but also hot and take room on our table. This year we're adding two more lights to the dining fly just to add to the overall light level. But really usable light, very little power use. We also charge our power units on a larger Goal Zero unit using the solar panels. Love these products.

Perfect task lighting for camping

I got two of the Mini USB lights, a Mini Lantern and a Flip 20 recharger for a 3 day winter backpacking trip in Sweden. There is not much daylight in Sweden in early November and I had these lights running from about 3 PM until bedtime and then again from about 5 AM until sunrise (7:30 AM) to light the cabins we were overnighting in. Used interchangeably, the Mini Lantern and the Flip 20 were my base power sources for the two Mini Lights which I ran at half setting. I could easily read my book there was so much light! One thing I noticed however is that these lights need a lot of juice to light up. It was cold on this trip (-5ºC or less most nights) and I had to daisy chain the Flip 20 and the Mini Lantern to get the lights to shine. Once they were going, I could break the daisy chain and they ran fine, but there must be some sort of startup inertia that requires more energy than the actual use of the lights once they are going. Something to keep in mind if you're going to be camping in the cold.
I bought this light for a carry around and not camping. Does take up room. Works well with my venture 30 and is plenty bright to read by. I have not taken on camping trip yet but keep in car for utility light
I just bought the light and have only used it to show others how I can plug it in to my new Venture 30 and Nomad 7 solar panel. I have not been able to use it while camping or for any other reasons. But, I am sure it will work fine. I love the size and the light fits in the mesh lining of my nomad with the Venture 30. I purchased the Venture 30 because when I use my smart phone for music or GPS the battery runs out quickly and I need something to help me during short weekend camping trips. I also use it with my Rock out speaker and Nano. I will not be able to be able to give you a good comparison of the pros and cons until I use it more.

I use this light as a small light source that I can attach to my laptop case so I can be seen by on coming traffic when I walk home from work at night. I use a Flip 10 in by bag to power the light. As always the build quality is excellent and the light is very bright so oncoming drives cal see me. This is again another great product from Goal Zero!!!
Bought these for a spartan slide in truck camper I have. The camper is 8 feet long and has a wedge pop up (like an old vw). Two of these light it well enough to read, play board games, etc. great purchase!
