Good but not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, a negative on Whirlpool's warranty: The warranty starts when you purchase the product, not when it is first installed. We were having a new house built. Our builder expected to install the appliances in November 2019, so we purchased them in October. Due to weather and other delays, the house was not completed and appliances not installed until January 2020. We lost 3 months of warranty coverage while the appliances sat in storage.
So, we began using this dishwasher in January 2020 after it was installed in our new house. I worked fine until September when the pump that feeds the sprayer arms quit. We are waiting on a repair. Scheduling the repair was easy, but we live in a small mountain resort community and getting service here means waiting three weeks for a tech to come up - clearly not Whirlpool's problem.
So, we began using this dishwasher in January 2020 after it was installed in our new house. I worked fine until September when the pump that feeds the sprayer arms quit. We are waiting on a repair. Scheduling the repair was easy, but we live in a small mountain resort community and getting service here means waiting three weeks for a tech to come up - clearly not Whirlpool's problem.
The dishwasher is very quiet and cleans very well when it is working, just remember to keep the filters clean. Since the controls are top mounted, you can't see the progress lights while it is running, but the front indicator light shows when it is done. The dishwasher does not like to have its cycle interrupted and getting it going after an interruption takes some doing if the door is open for more than 4 seconds.
We really like the fingerprint resistant black stainless steel and stainless steel interior. The overall look, fit and finish of the dishwasher are very good. We're just not sure about long term reliability since we've already had a mechanical problem, so we added an extended warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great addition to my kitchen
