I was in the process of setting up a home gym that I use 3-4 times per week. I wanted a dumbbell set that didn't take up the space of a whole rack and one that was not as costly as one. The BowFlex 552 Dumbbells accomplished just that. I purchased them as part of a set with the stand and it takes up very little space. While they are a great item, they do have their limitations. They are much longer than traditional dumbbells so attempting any exercise that requires bringing them together (i.e. dumbbell bench press) would be similar to a wide grip on a bar. Additionally, there is some wiggling that takes place with the plates on the dumbbell when using them, but overall they seem to be sturdy. All-in-all a great product for the price and after using them for 2 weeks, I don't regret my decision to buy them!

I get a full body workout with these. Anything I can do with a barbell, I simply double grip a dumbbell and hit muscle groups from different angles. I prefer gripping dumbbells over squats with barbell sitting on my shoulders.
