The dumbells are well-made and sturdy. Adjustability is easy to use and smooth. The dials on the end of the dumbells can get in the way for certain workouts that require resting the end of the dumbell against your shoulder, leg, etc. Definitely, need to purchase stand to go along with dumbells.
This is the adjustable dumbbell that outperforms other dumbbells, and allows you to outperform. I've contemplated buying these dumbbells for a few years. However, since 90% of my workouts were at a gym, I convinced myself I didn't need this home equipment. When the COVID pandemic hit, like many I rushed to the internet for fitness equipment. As most fitness supply quickly depleted, I instantly regretted not buying the SelectTech dumbbells, years prior. As other suppliers restocked their adjustable dumbbells, I ignored them as I anticipated Bowflex's restock. It took months to be able to place my order, then 4 months to get my order. Although, I should've jumped on the purchase earlier, the wait was well worth it. Rather than have a rack of weights that consume too much space, this allows for condensed storage. You don't have to constantly rerack and switch weights, to adjust to varying workouts. Put the dumbbell in its housing, turn the dial to your desired weight, lift off and get those gains!
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy Storage, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Transport, Easy To Use, Quiet, Strengthens, Stylish
I love my selecttech weights BUT the one caveat is if you are using a strength training app/regimen that likes you to use front racking of weights these are too wide for a female to use. I'm 5'10'' and about 145 Lbs. I mostly do spin classes but wanted to incorporate these into my strength training regiment to be more balanced. The versatility is INCREDIBLE and I couldn't recommend these more, but for novice lifters you may need to research alternate holds for the same moves (even bilateral curls don't work unless you do them Hammer.) that being said, a little googling goes a long way and these are still indispensable!
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy Storage, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Quiet, Strengthens
I love these! It's so nice to have my weights all in one place. My workout area is clean and tidy! The weights are great to workout with. I definitely recommend these!
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy Storage, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Quiet, Strengthens
I ordered these and waited a very long time to receive them. When I finally did, I was disappointed. They are very big and bulky. Doing triceps is almost impossible with these, as I hit myself in the head with how long the barbells are. The weight in each barbell is also not evenly distributed (one side weighs more). What a disappointment. I really wanted to love them, as they take up much less room than traditional weights. Very sad.
Pros: Durable, Easy Storage
Cons: Hard To Use, Heavy / Bulky, Uncomfortable, Way too big
I like this product so far. It is very solid. Came in a very good packaging. Very slow delivery time (Due to Covid). I purchase the Bowflex Select tech stand to go with this Bowflex Select tech 552 Dumbbell. This stand work with this 552 model using the strap and a plastic stopper. For other model dumbbell can fit on this stand with 4 solid screws attached to the base. I wish, Bowflex design their stand to fit for all their models Or transparent about their design in the description. If anyone plan to buy the stand, you should aware of it.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy Storage, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use
Cons: Not an exact fit with Bowflex SelectTech Stand
I bought this product to add to my regular weight loss routine and I am so glad I did. Not only did it save space in my tiny home but its clearly a high quality product. It consolidates all the weights I would have had to have purchased and it does it in a way that is efficient and friendly.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy Storage, Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Quiet, Strengthens
