The SelectTech allows for a range of weights without having to have a rack with a long row of individual dumbbells. This saves a great deal of space. Switching weights is easy with a twist of a dial. The downfall of an all in one system like this is that there is a bulkier dumbbell to deal with when using lighter weights. The length of the dumbbell is the same regardless of weight dialed in. The space savings make this issue well worth it.
