These dumbbells are really great and replace a complete set of up to 50lb dumbbells. If you were looking for a set of dumbbells that are very similar to what you would use in a gym these are good option. They are also good for easily increasing or decreasing weight just by turning the dial. Which makes for things like drop sets easy to complete. They are pretty long for dumbbells so it may take some getting used to for movements like curls and overhead presses. However because they have the feel of a gym dumbbell adapting is pretty easy. The hardest part of using these dumbbells was just unboxing them other than that they work great and very easy to use. A stand would definitely benefit you.
