I love the Selecttech 552 dumbbells! Fast to use, easy to use, minimal space requirements, and most importantly, effective. You can buy these for the same (or less) than buying separate sets and save a ton of space. Adjustable plate sets may save you a little cash (a big "maybe"), but then you waste time swapping plates out, screwing and unscrewing the bars, etc.. With the Selecttech series, just put them in the base, turn a couple of wheels, and on to the next exercise, which helps maximize your workouts by reducing downtime. I highly recommend these to anyone serious about saving time, money, space, and getting a great workout. #sweepstakes

They were very easy to set up and I thought that I would use them as a normal set of dumbbells. I quickly found that they were so much more! After reading through the user guide (Who needs to read through a user guide for dumbbells?) I found that by selecting different settings on each end I could work muscles that never got worked with a standard set of dumbbells. This has taken my workouts to a whole new level and I am getting even better results!

I would, and have, recommend these to anyone. Very easy to use. I read reviews on these before purchasing and was weary at first. People have complained that they break, are loud, and get stuck. After using for sometime now, I don't see the issue. Only thing I can imagine is people dropping them like standard dumbbells, which you're not supposed to drop them. They're not loud at all. I enjoy the grip on the handle very much. I had one instance where I changed the weight and went to left the dumbbell up but it did get stuck for a second. I just let it back down and lifted it up. Don't think I lifted it straight up to be honest. I have no complaints whatsoever with these dumbbells. Also, back to feeling a little weary of purchasing them, I also added the 5 year warranty to them. I feel confidant about the purchase with the warranty, and I'm very pleased with the product. Don't hesitate, just purchase them and get to lifting!

I've always wanted a set of adjustable dumbbells but I haven't had the living situation to get them until now. Wow! The ability to go through a dumbbell workout without waiting for somebody to finish or have to go find the matching dumbbell is priceless. I've been doing a full-body workouts with some machine or bar sets at the gym but now I just use the adjustable dumbbells at home with the recommended workouts that came with the set. I also have the newest Bowflex stowable bench which I highly recommend. It's really been a game changer for me and I live with my husband in a large studio apartment in NYC and the dumbbells and bench tuck away nicely until it's time for one of us to workout. One con is that one of the dumbbells sticks a little but once i turn the knob again it's fine.

I have been consideriing buying bow flex adjustable dumbbells for a long time, but never did, until just about a month ago. That was a mistake. The fact that you can adjust up to 50 pounds eliminates the need for both space and equipment. These dumbbells are also uniquely designed in such away that challenge you to use your entire body when using them. The 552 weights are quite efficient too. They are lightweight and adjust so effortlessly that you reduce time between exercises. So my the money I paid for these dumbbells was not an expense, but a wise investment indeed. I also highly recommend the excellent media stand, which reduces the risk of injury!
