Overall this is an excellent product. I have made great use of it - and it is in great shape after more than 200 uses. The weights do rattle slightly but overall there is no issues. The physical size of the weights is large and while usually not an issue, some specific exercises can be very challenging due to their length.

These dumbbells are pretty much the only option for people creating a home gym in a small space. And they are also pretty much the only ones out there worth the money quality-wise. And they are everything I expected them to be: sturdy (but not as sturdy as traditional dumbbells, of course), sleek and stylish. Building the stand was not nearly as simple as I expected, and getting the bolts wrenched on took a lot of elbow grease. Also, on the lower end of the weight range, these dumbbells get a little bulky. Many exercises you would do with 5-10 lb. dumbbells require more range of motion than these allow. Also, using these dumbbells for one-weight skullcrushers and similar exercises is a little weird because the places wobble. Overall, a great product but definitely keep some of those lighter dumbbells for certain exercises.

Cons: Difficult setup, Heavy / Bulky

I use these for P90X and various other in-home Beachbody workouts. Before the 552's, I used resistance bands which worked ok, but with the addition of these I gained a LOT more muscle! What a difference! I don't write a lot of reviews but these are too good not to review.

I'm a P90X fanatic and these are perfect for quickly moving between exercises and weights. Too light? Too heavy? Not a problem! The SelectTechs are quick change artists. The only real issue I have is how quickly I built strength - I've already outgrown these and need to upgrade to the 1090s!

I like that the weights are compact and that they only take a small area of space yet contain all of the weights that I need for my various workouts. The only complaint that I have is that the select dial that changes the weights sometimes gets jammed and it takes awhile to get it unstuck. The adjustment is made of a hard plastic instead of heavy metal which I think would make it more effective.
