I've been following online workout programs for a while, and I was able to lose weight with them fairly well. However, because I only had one set of dumbbells that only went up to 17.5 pounds each and could not be changed quickly, it was hard to gain much muscle. But ever since I got my Bowflex dumbbells, I've been getting stronger each week. They go from 5 pounds all the way to 52.5 pounds. You can change the weight super fast. And they almost never get stuck while changing them (and on the rare occasion they do get stuck, all it takes is a firm wiggle, and they're right back in place.). The weights are pretty expensive, but I would still pay for them all over again. Lastly, a tip for those trying to gain muscle, (now this should be fairly obvious) it's very important to eat a lot of protein. As in 0.8-1.0 grams per pound of bodyweight per day.

I really like the changeable weights and being able to have them all at the same place really saves a ton of space. The only thing I would recommend is to have a sturdier holder, since it made out of plastic i am afraid if i accidentally drop the weights it would break.

I am happy with my purchase, but they take a little time to get used to the size of them. The adjustability is great. I work with my special needs nephew doing his exercises and it is nice to be able to adjust the weights in 2.5lb. Increments.
