they are fantastically simple to satisfy needs for rapid weight changes during a workout. The bells become a little longer and less easily controlled at both light weights and heavier weights. This is a necessary by product of design. Also, one may not use these bells for certain combo exercises such as plank pushups and pushouts. Damage to mechanism will result. Great for space saving and rapid weight changes. I also would prefer a straight grip rather than the shaped grip provided.

The wait is over! I've been working with a pair of 10lbs dumbells for several months and it's great to change weights! They are bulky but you just have to adjust your grip and the way you lift, but is doable. Don't drop them on the ground and you'll be fine. There are videos of replacement discs that are made of metal rather than plastic the the company should investigate. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.
