Easy, space saving solution to add free weight capability to a home gym. Great for maintaining fitness at all ages. Made for those who know how to maintain their equipment. These should last a lifetime. If you like to drop, slam or toss your weights onto the floor, these are not for you.
Cons: Disconnecting the safety straps was frustrating.

My wife and I both have a membership to a 24/7 Gym two miles from our home. However, our overlapping and conflicting schedules doesn't afford us both the opportunity to utilize the membership. With the SelectTech dumbbells and the Maxtrainer M5 we can both find the time to exercise. What is great about both products is that there are apps available that supplement the product by helping you track your workouts as well as provide workouts for you to follow. I'm very happy with the decision I made to purchase these products because I can still get a workout in even if I don't have the ability to go to the gym due to family obligations.

I'm 54 and needed to incorporate free weights into my cardio and cable weight training routine, and after reviewing several products, I decided on the BowFlex Selecttech 552. My decision was based on several factors; other customer reviews, quality, reliability, cost, and ease of use. Some reviews had a concern with the bulkiness; but, these are very easy to use and not bulky. In summary, a great product that I use three times a week and will be getting the Selecttech 1090 relatively soon for increased weight options.

Excellent Piece of Fitness Equipment

I purchased my set of 552's over eleven (11) years ago. I work out 4-6 days a weeks and have put these dumbbells through it. If you take care of them they will last forever. These dumbbells have been one of the greatest pieces of fitness equipment I have ever purchased and I have been at for more than 25 years. These are not steel dumbbells, you cannot just dump them on the floor. Outstanding purchase and I have recommended them to others more times than I can count.
