I have these dumbbells and a bench. I can do about 75% of the things I would like to do at the gym with just this equipment. The only thing I was concerned about with these dumbbells is that they are so wide. They are indeed much wider than what you would find at the gym, but they are not so wide that it would substantially affect your workout. In my opinion, they are expensive, but I still think they are worth the cost (barely).

My wife and I been doing P90X and various other Beachbody workouts. During these workout's, quick weight changes are required to keep moving and keep your heart rate up. Using old style dumbbells with interchangeable plates is just a pain, slowing you down and decreasing the effectiveness of your workout. With the Bowflex SelectTech 552 dumbbells we can breeze through our workouts with no interruptions! Changing weight on the fly has never been so easy!! Just as fast as owning a full set of dumbbells without the cost and space requirements. Wish we would've purchased sooner.
