Brilliant dial system for changing weight. Increases in 2.5 lb increments up to 25 lbs, unfortunately then 5 lb increments after that. That's a big jump at the higher weights, but I knew that when I bought it. The optional stand has a very poor design to retain the storage trays on the 552 model; a strap that interferes with wrapping your fingers around the dumbbell handle. Huge disappointment, expected much better from Bowflex. Will have to create my own tray retention design. 5 stars for the dumbbell review, 2 stars for the optional stand review.

I no longer have time to go to the gym, so when I decided to make I own home gym, I looked at the Bowflex 552 set witht the stand to save space and time. These are easy to set up and switching between weights is simple enough. I personally would have preferred all metal construction, instead of plastic, but I haven't had any trouble with these so far.
