The dumbbells are wide but not too wide. You can have a different weight on each side to hit the muscle in a different way. Instead of a rack. Of dumbbells only 2 are needed. Speed of changing weight is a big plus.

I use for strength training exercises. These are a bit bulky to do general quick-change cardio-type strength exercises just because of the time it takes to set the dumbell on the holder in order to change out the dials on both sides of each dumbell. These are great for general strength training exercises that are not cardio-quick-change type of exercises.
