I was excited to finally receive these after waiting several months to get them. However, I was a bit disappointed with them. I'm not sure I would recommend these to someone. I'm pretty on the fence still, but I've listed my pros and cons below. CONS: Extremely bulky/long making simple workouts very uncomfortable, limiting, or not at all for safety concerns. The handle/grip should have been a better design to help grip these with sweaty hands. Would have been nice to have a better way to lock these into their base instead of the cheap strap. They feel pretty cheap with so much plastic design. PROS: Purchase price to weight ratio is a money saver. Big space saver instead of having multiple dumbbells or plates lying around. For the exercises you can safely perform, it does its intended job. #sweepstakes

Cons: Heavy / Bulky, Not Very Practical, Uncomfortable

Very bulky, hit myself in the head the first time using them to do overhead press, also cannot hold easily to do dumbbell RDLs. Honestly prefer regular dumbbells.

Starting out slowly with the weights, so easy to move up or down with the weights and it can be done in seconds flat. The only real issue is that I need a straight bar for presses and i'm not going to invest another 500.00 to do just that. There should be a way to convert what I have to a straight bar.

These dumbbells are awesome! I've been looking at getting a set for a while now, and these caught my eyes because of their versatility. My partner and I like using free weights and the fact that it's a whole set of free weights without taking up the space is great. Since the Pandemic of '20 my wife and I have quit going to the gym. We have limited space available for storage so we have been looking for equipment that serves multiple purposes or takes up limited space. I explored a wide variety of adjustable dumbbells and decided that the Bowflex 552 were our best option. They most resemble typical dumbbells which was important to my wife. If she was going to use them then this was a game changer. It took a while to have them shipped but it was worth the wait. They are user friendly as they are easy to adjust to the desired weight. If you want them portable then I'd suggest you find some type of rolling rack. If you are not one that typically hauls around 52 lbs with an attached base (that is easy to knock off) then these could be a problem. If you leave them on the floor then not so much. I found them initially to be bulky in that the posts are quite long but given the alternative of having to have multiple dumbbell sets then this was an easy compromise.
