Easy to use right out of the box. Overall, it's as advertised and consistent with the many positive reviews I read prior to making the purchase. It's great to have the flexibility of all the different weights in such a small space using just two dumbells. Honestly, I wish I'd gotten them years ago. The wife and I are pleased with it so far. One thing though (and this isn't a knock on the product), I can see that we'll likely purchase the stand in the near future as bending over the floor to change the weights can become tedious over time. Again, this isn't a knock on the product as you'd have the same problem if you had a bunch of dumbells instead of the Bowflex weights.

I did not think I would like using these because of the size. They were free with max trainer I bought (which we love) I am used to using small hand weights. I gave these a try because -why not? And I like the balance versatility and feel.

I'm just starting out with my bowflex Total (which I Love) and these dumbbells were free with it! I didn't think I'd use them, but I am trying to incorporate them more and more. I love that you don't need to have a separate area to keep all the dumbbell individual pairs you would need to equal just one of the Bowflex ones or haul them out and then put them back! These are very convenient and give you great variety!! My son is an avid workoutaholic and he loves them! Now he can do some at home if he is short on time.

I had researched multiple brands / types of adjustable dumbbells and finally chose Bowflex 552's. They came within days of the order, packaged securely and ready for immediate use. The weights seem solid, the adjusting dial ratchets smoothly to choose different weight, and while in use are quiet and not clanking around at all. The dumbbells come out of and slide back into their individual holding rack/tray easily. I do not feel they stick in their rack/tray when you initially pull them out (as some reviewer state) as long as you pull them 'straight up' and not at an angle. Very happy with the purchase..!!
