I was deciding between the Bowflex and Power Block adjustable dumbbells. I went with the Bowflex mainly based on the appearance. They are more true to a dumbbell shape and the blocky look of the Power Block was a turn off. I am very pleased with my decision. The dumbbells are great in saving space in the home by just having to buy the one set that adjusts to different weights. The touch of a dial changes the weight selection so you can keep going with your routine without being bogged down by changing weights on regular dumbbells. They are a little longer than normal dumbbells but after a short time I got use to the size and am able to perform any exercise I normally could with a pair of dumbbells. The accompanying DVD is very informative providing instructions and exercise demonstrations. The main downside I see in them is the sturdiness. For normal use they are plenty sturdy for my use. The instructional DVD advises not to drop them from even a short distance. I wanted to do some pushups with dumbbells but have not dared to for fear I might damage them. I don't know if that is true or not I just didn't take the chance. Other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase and they have re-inspired me to train hard once again. The free 3-in-1 bench I got with my purchase has been an asset to my training also.

One dumbell hangs up when 22.5 lbs is selected. It usually frees up with an adjustmet to the dial but is sometimes frustrating when I'm in a hurry. Although not a huge issue; my preference would be that they were a couple inches shorter. My wife would prefer that they have adjustments for 27.5 and 32.5 lbs.
