I couldn't be happier with these things. My wife and I started the EAS "Body For Life" program in January 2011 and we've used these dumbbells exclusively since then. Free weights are the best exercise possible, and there is no way we'd be able to afford a full set of gym quality dumbbells. These Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells were the perfect solution to our fitness goals.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
Excellent product for strength training. There are only a couple of exercises that are somewhat difficult to perform with the Bowflex dumbells due to their being longer than normal dumbells; however, the amout of time (changing weights) and space you save by using the SelectTech dumbells far outweigh this minor inconvenience.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I use these dumbbells primarily at home, and they are very convenient because of the small amount of space they take up and the speed with which you are able to change weights. They feel very sturdy when in use, the weights don't feel loose or slide.
I'm so happy I decided to purchase these dumbbells. At first I wasn't sure because of the price. But wow, I have to say I'm so happy I pulled the trigger and got them. Close to finished with my P90x and I would not have had the same results without these. Their fast to change, well built and the stand is the perfect companion. Thanks Bowflex
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I have had these for 4 months and they are used 5-6 days a week. Work great. I fully recommend. Adjusting weight is easy. A little bulky for the folks who dial down to lighter weights.
I bought these along with a basic FID bench for my 12'x12' workout space. There are plenty of exercises to cover all muscle groups with just these weights and a bench. I'm usually working out alone, so I don't have a spotter, making bench pressing with a bar too dangerous. These work great! If you want to bench more weight, you might have to go with the SelectTech 1090s, but for me 105 lbs.(total) is okay for now, although I use every pound of it. I also got the 2-in-1 stand, and recommend it to go along with these if you are considering it. Cons: These are a little bigger around than many regular dumbbells, causing them to hit my wrists during some exercises. Also, it is sometimes hard to adjust the top weights when they are on the stand. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for me, and I would highly recommend this product.
