I use the product in my light training during my baseball season. For low weights, they are a bit bulky - they are always the same length, just vary in weight, so if you use 10 lbs. or less, you still use a dumbbell that is the size of a much heavier cast iron set. For limited, home use, I believe this is a perfect addition to a home gym. You do not need to maintain a large dumbbell rack and these things are easily moved. Weight selection is very simple and very quick. If you do not get a free stand with the dumbbells, I do not see a need for the stands - easy enough to leave them on the ground in the standard holders that come with them. Note: I have not used them enough to speak on their durability but I am pleased at this point.

Cons: A little awkward, Heavy / Bulky

I was using a DVD program for about 45 days. The dumbells i had did not give me the flexibility i needed to get the most results. Moving to the Select Tech 552 was a no-brainer. Clicking to my desired weight, quickly has sped up my workouts, alowing less down time between reps. I wish i had this a while ago!

Works great, but I wish I could change the weight setting on one end of the weight instead of having to do both sides. It makes it difficult to keep up with workout DVDs at times.

These dumbbells are perfect. I have been using it for P90x, but they can be used with any work-out. Very comfortable grip and easy to switch the weights (with a twist of a knob). This is more than enough weight for average athlete or anyone looking to bulk up.
