I have owned several home gymn systems over the years and the Bowflex Home Gym has, by far, been the most effective because of it's ease of use. Because of this, my workouts are done more routinely and consistently. This is certainly the case with the SelectTech Dumbbells system. Not every gym system can cover everything you want to do as part of your exercise program. That's why I tried the SelectTech. There are targeted muscles I just could not challenge as effectively as I wanted ... and I couldn't afford much more floor space. The SelectTech system has turned out to be the best solution that I was looking for.

I absolutely love my set of dumbbells. It is a great product to have in my apartment and is very easy to use. I love being able to quickly transition from one weight to another. This product is great to have if you like to do multiple exercises quickly and efficiently. The only critique I have is that the dumbbell can be too wide. What I mean is that there are times when doing exercises where the dumbbells are side to side (length wise) that my arms feel too far apart. This makes it awkward to do some exercises. I feel that this could be corrected by using heavier and thinner weight plates. This issue is minor though and I wouldn't trade my dumbbells in for any other product out there on the market.

In general, I got what I expected. I knew before I bought these, from talking with other users, that these were a bit bulky. Doing P90X routines with these are difficult sometimes and I find myself reverting back to my single weight dumbbells. However, I do enjoy these since I can get up to 55 lbs without having to have a whole slew of weights. So I end up using my dumbbells for anything less than 20 and these for anything above.

Much better than I thought. Turning the dial during workout is fun, makes me like more to work out. The content of DVD coming with the dumbbells is extremely helpful! The DVD itself is worth of 20$ IMO.
