Great compliment to P90x. Have had them now for 1 year and still in great shape, rotates easily, no sticking. Durable, a bit bulky, but can't avoid this combining this many dumbbells into one unit. Recommend the stand to save your back.
I use these weights with an exercise program 5 x a week. My husband also uses them almost daily for a "quick pump." We don't have a lot of room for bulky weights so these were an awesome choice for storage issues. We've had a few problems with the weights getting stuck and it gets really frustrating to get them loose. We have to take them all apart and put them back together and then they work again. this is a bit annoying, but worth it. They are sturdy and I absolutely love the stand I got to put them on! My husband wishes we went with the higher weights...the ones that go to one hundred pounds as he is about maxed out with these already. They are very expensive though and don't think we will make the investment to increase the weight because of the sticking problem and high cost. Overall...they are a good choice. We like them.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I have been using the SelectTech Dumbbells for a month and a half now during the P90X program. I bought them specifically for the program because I loved the design and wanted to get rid of all of my other weights. So far, I have been very pleased with the product. The wider design of the weights makes doing some of the workouts a tad bit odd, but they are definitely do-able and shouldn't be a concern. Also, in changing from one weight to anohter, the locking mechanism sometimes sticks and you have to wiggle the dial, which can be annoying, but not a big concern. All in all, it is very easy to adjust different weights to different workouts quickly and easily. The handle grip is a nice feature, and the weight stand (sold separately) complete with towel rack, is wonderful to have as well.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
The SelectTech 552 dumbbells are very convenient as a set of weights to use at home while taking up very minimal space. Dialing up the desired weight is fairly easy, although it would be more convenient if each dumbbell only had one dial rather than one on each side of the dumbbell. The weights rattle around a little bit while working out, creating a slight annoyance at times.
The dumbbells are easy to use for the size and space that they take up, they were the foundation for my home gym, and I have purchased the 3.1 bench in order to do more exercises with them. they are a little big for lighter exercises (20 lbs or less) but once you get past the 30 lb mark on them the size is proportional to the weight. Great product overall, and once I can lift more than the 52 lbs, I will be buying the 10-90 series dumbbells.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I use them almost daily. They came with a free rolling stand and are thus space-friendly and easy to move around. I would highly recommend this product especially to those who cannot go to the gym everyday and would like a much needed resistance training at their convenience of what their home can offer. They're easy to use and having multiple settings at your fingertips made my training much more effective. I can choose to change the resistance anytime I want.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
Made the workout part of a new lifestyle plan so much easier. And, the athletes in the family were able to use, as well, without much fuss about switching the weight on the dumbbells.
