These have been great. I've actually purchase the 1090 since then. I liked them that much! I hated my old dumbbells. Having to take the collars off every time to change the weight was a pain. I didn't want to buy a lot of pairs of dumbbells and a rack as they take up too much space. The 552s were perfect for my needs. They take up very little space and weight changes are a breeze, you just put them back in the base plates, turn the dial, lift off and go. I think buying the rack was a great investment as it puts them at a perfect height to lift on and off.
It would be nice if the equipment (bench and rack) could fold up, because it just sits in my living room out in the open, in the way. The weights are nice though, but bulkier (longer) than what I'm used to.
I use mine daily, What a great product. I looked at a few other brands and really glad I choose the Bowflex So easy to dial in the pounds your wanting to lift and go. Also comes with a really great exercise DVD.
Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
The SelectTech 552 Dumbbells are Good Stuff. They are easy to adjust and use. Much easier to adjust than the floor models in the store. At first I was concerned that the length would make them awkward to use but it's not an issue. The rolling stand is a must have if you don't have some other stand that you plan to keep them on.
The product is good but I find the overall dumb bells too wide for some exercises.
Pros: Compact, Easy To Use
Cons: Too Wide
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great compliment to P90x. Have had them now for 1 year and still in great shape, rotates easily, no sticking. Durable, a bit bulky, but can't avoid this combining this many dumbbells into one unit. Recommend the stand to save your back.
I use these weights with an exercise program 5 x a week. My husband also uses them almost daily for a "quick pump." We don't have a lot of room for bulky weights so these were an awesome choice for storage issues. We've had a few problems with the weights getting stuck and it gets really frustrating to get them loose. We have to take them all apart and put them back together and then they work again. this is a bit annoying, but worth it. They are sturdy and I absolutely love the stand I got to put them on! My husband wishes we went with the higher weights...the ones that go to one hundred pounds as he is about maxed out with these already. They are very expensive though and don't think we will make the investment to increase the weight because of the sticking problem and high cost. Overall...they are a good choice. We like them.
