This product is all that I believed it would be, and then some. Don't buy them without the stand, it's a huge benefit to be able to roll them around my small apartment. I've already started picking up my old gym rat routine a little bit, but mostly now I'm following a PT regime for a soldier injury. They're not as compact as you'd think, but considering what they replace I have no complaints. The only improvement I would suggest is to set the weights so that they could automatically match weight settings, i.e. Setting to 30 lbs will automatically switch the other dial as well. Otherwise, it's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.
I love my new select techs, Saves so much space compared to old dumbbells that i had. Adjusting weight on the fly has never been easier. Even my younger kids use these on the lower settings and they love the feel of them. They also look a lot cooler than traditional dumbbells. No cons to give becouse these are flawless in every way that i use them. Great buy.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I bought these rather than a gym membership after learning of my company's reimbursement policy (making cost less of an object for me). I already have a few pieces of cardio equipment in my "gym" along with some body-weight equipment (pull-up bar and push-up handles) so this was a great addition. I primarily do exercises involving my own body weight so these don't get TONS of abuse, but they do come in handy for a few exercises (such as for obliques, shoulders, and traps). There was a special on the product so I received the stand as well. All of it was easy to put together and easy to use. I like how you can offset the weights by putting more (or less) on one side than the other, allowing you to switch things up a bit. With that in mind I myself find it slightly confusing at times having the weight labeled on each side as total weight (and not the weight you're selecting for that one side), but I'm sure others would find the opposite confusing (having to add the labels on each side to get the total dumbbell weight). That's really my only "gripe" so far. Over all it appears to be a well-made product (glad to hear they switched some parts from plastic to metal) that is thus far a great addition to my "gym." It's also nice to have the straps on the stand that prevent the casual lifting of the dumbbell from the stand; this nicely protects my nieces and nephews from getting too curious and hurting themselves. Thanks, Bowflex.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I love how the dumbbells provide many different dumbbell weights with just a turn of the dial. They are easy to use, and feel comfortable. I use them for many different exercise routines including circuits. The only drawback is that I can't move to the next exercise as fast if I'm changing weights. In addition, the weight plates could be more secure. However, the benefits of having the Selecttech dumbbells far outweigh the negatives.
Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Targets Muscles
Cons: Difficult in circuits, Weights not as secure
I bought these so my wife and I can both use them. She is 95lbs, so the lighter weights are ideal for her. I am 200lbs, so with a simple twist of the dial, I can use the same set without taking up valuable space. They are a bit bulky at the lowest weight, but that is expected. Overall a great product. I would definately recommend.
