It's really bulky. It's really difficult to use both dumbbells at the same time when you need to keep them in front of you. They keep bumping to each other. Plus the shipping took over 4 months!

My wife and I used to wait once or twice a week consistently for resistance training. We were replacing a Nother set of Nautilus/Bowflex adjustable hand weights that was approximately 10- 12 years old. Although the weights themselves are very similar to the older model, the base has gotten noticeably cheaper and flimsier. That is a distinct downgrading in the quality of this product. Although it has always been necessary to very carefully set the weight back in the base, now that the base is flimsy plastic, I am concerned that it is much more likely to break.
Pros: Easy To Use

The handles are a bit too fat making the grip loose, since the weights wiggle either way it feels a bit unsteady. If it were a straight bar it'd be better. I worry about longevity since so many repair kits exist for it too. But they do allow for more weight without taking up the space.

I have purchased more than 15 pairs of the 552's for my fitness business. During Covid they changed the base. It is now hollow and flimsy. This makes them extremely difficult to carry them without the underside cutting into your fingers. Unfortunately this is a huge problem for me as I carry them from client to client. Will they be making the base the original way again or did they cheapen this wonderful product to cut costs?
