I have a generic select brand weights I used to use. They worked for awhile but then after many uses weights started sticking and became inefficient to my work outs. Using my new Bowflex 552 dumbbells , I find them easier to get in and out. The weights are perfect for many different muscle parts to develop. My only regret is not getting them sooner.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I use these weights in my Chalean Extreme workouts, as well as in most of my Beachbody home programs. I love the quickness of dialing in and selecting a weight. The stand is the perfect height to help protect my back when lifting heavier sets. The time it takes to select your weight is so quick and easy. My favorite thing is that they are such space savers! My workout room is a converted bedroom - so I don't have a ton of space for racks of weights. I have everything I need in this one set. Finally - I just feel cool using them! :) They have such a powerhouse look to them! Makes me push harder through the difficult reps!
I was in the market for a new set of dumbbells and was researching the adjustable vs the hex weights. There are some cheaper adjustable dumbbells out there, but you get what you pay for. The Hex weight sets are also cheaper but if you price them out according to what you get with the SelectTech, then you end up paying way more. I decided to go with the SelectTechs because I trust that Bowflex is going to make a quality product. I have had my original Bowflex Power Pro for ever 10 years and have yet to have any problems with it. So far I have zero complaints again. These weights are easy to use, keep down the clutter and look & feel great. I have been using them 3-4 times per week since I received them. Mostly using for arm workouts, but have been mixing in some of the other suggested exercises here & there. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a new set of dumbbells. Don't waste your money on a flimsy set.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
These are so easy to use, and give me the ability to target muscles in unlimited ways - conventional and custom exercises. I can target the insides and outsides of muscle groups just by varying the weight on each side of the barbell. Very unique.
I love how quickly you can switch out different weights. It does take a little while to get used to rotating one side of the dumbbell in one direction and the other side in the opposite direction. It makes sense that it works that way but it just takes a little getting used to. My son and I use them for P90X and it's been a huge help in getting us to the next exercise quickly. We also love the small increments (2.5 pounds) up to 25 lbs. It makes it much easier to make improvements. The dumbbells themselves are big even when you're doing 5 pounds but we haven't found it to be an obstacle to doing any of the exercises. The grips are great. I think the stand is a necessity as the instructions indicate you need to be careful not to drop the dumbbells. W/o the stand, it would be easy to be careless with them.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I have a 16 year old and a 13 year old. I bought them both there own set. They are eating these guys up on frequent occasion. We used to wrestle a bunch before they got these. Now that they have them Dad is staying far away!!!! These boys are getting ripped!
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
they are great for all bench and over use, just dont expect to use it for pushup row, like you would do with the hex one's. other than that functionality is awesome.
