I use it for my P90X workouts, and they work perfectly for it. Instead of having 15 separate sets of dumbbells filling up my living room, I have one pair that gives me everything I need. It's so easy and quick to change weight selections, and they were more solid than I was expecting. I'm very pleased, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have several dumbbells but don't have the space to accommodate

Long hours and a long commute had cut gym time dramatically and cardio and bodyweight exercises alone were not allowing me to maintain peak performance. I use them 5-6 days a week and am pleased with the purchase of the 552s. Pros: I shopped around and personally tried out most of the significant competitors and these are the highest quality adjustable dumbbells on the market. They don't take up too much room and are light enough my wife can use them as well. The included DVD contains valuable information on careful use on how to safeguard yourself and your dumbbells. Cons: They are a little light for heavy lifts and I will likely have to get the 1090's for significant further gains. Any adjustable dumbbell set is inherently more fragile than solid iron dumbbells, so I am still a bit cautious with them (i.e. dropping them after a lift, performing swings, or cleans and jerks).

I am 65 years old and I have had a basement gym for the last 30 years. I have every kind of dumbbell and barbell. As I have gotten older I have had less need for all the equipment and have started to give it to my 2 sons to stock at their homes. I already owned the 90 lbs. dumbbells and now bought the 52.5 lbs. dumbbells because they have such a good fit in my hand. I can do all my workouts with them and have been able to free up some space in my gym for a new elliptical. If Bowflex had been available years ago they are all I would have purchased. There would not have been a need for all the racks that I have to hold all the barbells and dumbbells.

I have been a gym member for a number of years. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the select tech 552 dumbells. They are one of the best investments I have ever made. They are compact and efficient. I do not need to leave home and I can get a head to toe high intensity workout in a fraction of the time it takes me to get to the gym, do my workout and come home. I love these high quality, versitile weights!!!! The only downside is the length of the dumbells which requires some adjusting to. No big deal and well worth the compromise.
