These dumbbells are really great for a few reasons. First they are relatively cheap if you compare them to the price of a full set of separately weighted metal ones. Second they are far more compact than a full set of dumbbells. I live in an apartment and having these out is much smaller and more appealing to the eye than even just 3 or 4 pairs of metal weights. Last they are great for the beginner weight lifter like myself that wants to build muscle because the weights can essentially grow with you as you get stronger with no need to buy bigger sets.

I am currently using these weights with the ChaLEAN Extreme program and it's awesome. So much better than having a bunch of separate weight sets to fumble with! It takes a minute to get adjusted to dialing in the weights with as quickly as her program flows, but I'm getting the hang of it! This is a great investment if you're putting the time into a program.

This is my second set of "Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells"; I had to sell my first set when I got layed-off from my job, but now that I'm working again I decided to order me another set. These dumbbells are great! So convenient to use, and they look great on the stand that I bought. It is so easy to change the weight increment, you can go from one exercise to another in about 5 seconds. Space savings are high with this set, no changing plates like my ancient iron set and no plates to lug around. These dumbbells compliment my P90X workouts like nobody's business, which helps me keep up with Tony!

I purchased the SelectTech 552 weights to use with the Chalean Extreme program. Chalene Johnson uses these weights throughout her program as well. Although the price may seem high at first, if you were to purchase a pair of dumbbells at all of the different weights the can be adjusted to, you would spend far more money! I also love that I do not have multiple weights all over the place, and I actually keep these in the corner of my den where I work out in the mornings. I began weight training two weeks ago after three months of intense cardio for weight loss, and I can already see results from lifting weights. Definitely a purchase I will never regret!
