Solid dumbbells. Super quick and simple to change the weights. I wish I had bought these a long time ago. The only, and I mean only, thing that isn't perfect about these is the fact that if you want to work out with just 5 pounds they're fairly bulky compared to other 5 pound dumbbells.
Overall, the design enables quick weight changes. The DVD and booklet that come with the product are really excellent. If you follow those instructions you are not going to dumb things (like you often see others doing in gyms and fitness centers). Anxiously awaiting delivery of our bench so that we can fully apply the techniques shown in the DVD. This product, in combination with our new MAX Trainer (M5), gives us the perfect in-home setup to ensure regular fitness training

I've been coveting these for years and finally pulled the trigger. They're exactly what I wanted for my home gym and I recommend them for anyone who lifts seriously but lacks the room for a full dumbbell set. Actually, I'd recommend them even if you do have room for a full set. I use these 4 times per week for about 45 minutes at a time; I lift in the 4-6 rep range so I mostly use the settings between 25 lbs and 45 lbs. The dumbbells are incredibly sturdy and I never feel like a plate is going to fall off and hit me (I had this problem with a different brand of adjustable dumbbells). I even do overhead triceps extensions with no problem. The only drawback I can possibly see is that you can't drop these weights, but I am not a weight dropper in general so this isn't a problem for me. I am incredibly happy with my purchase and highly recommend these dumbbells.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Home Gym, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I own the 1090's and had bought the 552's for my wife. The smaller set is perfect for her and doesn't take up a great deal of space that would be required by individual weights. The select tech is easy to use and is much quicker than similar products. Highly recommended for home gym use. This is not a set for the lunkheads who enjoy throwing down the weights after their triumphant set! The selector disks are a hardened plastic, but will crack and break with repeated drops and will cause the weights to fall out at random. Personally the 552's have a much more comfortable grip than the 1090's and would have liked to seen that style used on both. All in all an outstanding set!
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
I use these for P90x and just in general when putting my own workouts together. They are great for changing to the weight I need on the fly, and without taking up much space at all. Nothing complex about em. Just click click click, go.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional
The selectech weights are out of this world awesome! The easy transition through different weight amounts is smooth and quick! They take up no room at all! I can't tell you how excited I was to get rid of all those free weights! I have to be honest, at first I was worried that hey would be flimsy and difficult, BUT I WAS WRONG. I have no trouble with their size and shape moving through all upper and lower body excercises. This was a major worry for my because I am 5'3" and my arms aren't very long. You can't go wrong with these!
