They are fragile. The individual weights have a small piece that shears off easily if you drop the set. I have had to replace 2 of them already. Doesn't take much either.
Cons: Not Durable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I used to go to gym 4 to 5 days a week but now, I will not able to go to the gym as often as I want to due to work schedule and some other reasons. But, since I purchased the dumbbells, I get to workout whenever I am at home, between my work, anytime. It is wonderful product.

I love my new bow-flex weight set! Having the ability to change the weight from anywhere from 2-52 pounds allows me to work on many different parts of my body. I use it for flys, curls, tricep extensions, and more. I would definitely recommend this set for any of your friends who like to keep their workouts at home because it really lets you work on anything!

I've been wanting a set of these weights for a while. Don't know what took me so long to add them to the home gym. I needed to add additional weights in order to start a popular body building home fitness program and just didn't think it would be a great idea to have a bunch of weights scattered everywhere. So I chose these instead. The only drawback to using these during that program is the drop set portion. I still resort back to a couple of dumbbells for those sets. I'm thinking of investing in the 1090's in the future. Maybe the updated version will be available by then. I noticed the 552's are getting one later this year.
