Easy to use for most exercises that involve dumbells. Easy to switch between weight. Be careful not to drop or hit them together, they do seem to be quite delicate. For the price they should come with the stand in my opinion..
Pros: Comfortable Grip, Easy For Beginners, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, No Assembly, Targets Muscles
Cons: Does Not Include Stand, Heavy / Bulky, Rattle In Use, Seem Delicate
Bowflex redesigned the base of these dumbbells and shipped out a hollow flimsy base compared to the previous models. The funny thing is - the images on their website still show the higher quality base. I'm sure they are saving money by switching to the cheaper, flimsy base, but at what cost? I loved my older elect tech dumbbells, but over time the mechanism gets sticky and doesn't work as well. I upgraded to a new pair expecting the same quality as the older models but was sadly mistaken. When I reached out to customer service, I was told that's the base they offer now and that it works just fine - basically "deal with it". I can no longer champion this brand...
Cons: Flimsy

These weights can be used in a variety of ways including squats, lunges, overhead press, lat pulls, plyometric jumps with weight, abs by holding the weight up by chest. And that is only a sampling as there are too many exercises to name them all. With a bench, these weights can be used in a multitude more exercises. This purchase was economical for the diversity they bring.
I am far more happy with this product than I am with my gym purchase. I love the ability to change the weight amount with a dial. No more space hog of multiple dumbbells laying around. The only downside is the hand grips are too tough on the hands. Work out gloves help with this but without them an average workout could be difficult.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Multifunctional, Targets Muscles
Do not have the clutter that comes with all the different weights needed for different workouts. One system does the job!

I used these weights for all my weight training needs for the past three to four years and they worked great. But, after time two years (funny how the warranty ends after that) I noticed the plates not locking quite as sturdy as normal. Now the weights will no longer lock in the final and heaviest weight plate making these dumbbells useless. Originally these were a great buy. However now you can buy a set of hex dumbbells (5-50 lbs) for around the same price depending where you buy them from. Granted they will take up more space but at least they will last not fall apart after several years of solid use. I will not be purchasing any more of these SelecTech weights.
