Very Dissappointed

After searching the Internet for wireless security cameras and camera systems I was truly hoping that Defender was the best option. I have been VERY disappointed. While the camera(s) connection to the hub was seamless, the I found the quality of the video very average and in my opinion not up to par with other HD cameras on the market. The software with the system I found to be outdated and time consuming to manage. I tried r e p e a t e d l y to connect the system to the internet (and I'm pretty good at computer issues). I followed the manual as well as the online video to no avail. In short, after a few weeks of owning the system I have pulled all of the cameras down and am in the process of migrating to another brand.
For those that like this product, I'm happy for you. From my perspective, I've wasted over $1,000.00. I've given the system away to a friend who owns a local company in the event he can make use of it.
Regards.
Roger

Great cameras but poor reception

I purchased the cameras about a month ago. Installation was very easy, but the wireless range is very disappointing. I live in a one story house and the furthest cameras are only 65 ft. away from the receiver (three of the six cameras are this distance away). They are constantly losing signal and freezing. The cameras that are 10-40 ft away work as advertised. The night vision is excellent. If it weren't for the poor range I would have rated this with 5 stars.

I have installed 6 cameras. Four of the six are less than 30 feet from the receivers and provide a great picture. The other two are between 55 and 65 feet from the receivers and provide intermittent pictures. The advertised maximum range of 750 feet and 200 feet optimal is a gross exaggeration. I will admit that the signal must pass through a brick wall but most homes in our part of the country have exterior brick. Eventually I will replace two cameras with wired cameras which will complicate the installation but should provide better coverage. It should also be noted that the wireless cameras cannot be mounted to a ceiling unless you are willing to accept an upside down picture. This is a distinct weakness since all of my cameras would be better suited if mounted under eaves or ceilings.

The system was easy to install. The camera picture quality is great for day and night vision. Over all quality of components is good. The effective range from the cameras to the receivers is not so good. With an stated range of 750 ft (195 ft suggested) I expected no problem receiving a constant signal. At 35ft I still have intermediate reception on one or more cameras.

I got this after already owning a wired system from Defender. I love both systems. They both work great. As far as I can tell, the only negative is that you have to have a plug for each camera, but that is a minor thing compared to what you get. I would definitely recommend and order another.

The wireless cameras and receivers were easy to match up. Reception range is ok. Foliage obscures the distance some. We have 3 of the cameras at a building approximately 350 feet away and reception is ok with 1 bar of signal. This includes 1 camera inside the building placed at the skylight. The IR works very well and projects a great view out to 60-70 feet. One camera has issues, but the company is working with us to correct the problem. Camera cords have plenty of length on them to allow good placement without excessive extension cords. I would have liked a manual for the monitor operations. Also would have liked a 6 picture view option for the monitor seeing the unit only comes with 6 cameras.
