Daisy chainable, I put them on the picnic table at the camp site and on the portable table my daughter used to color on.
Cable management can be improved. I'd take the extra weight of a spring loaded recoil system for the convenience of not having to deal with tangled cables.

Great for indoor RV lighting

I love these lights! They provide a soft light that is perfect for our 20' RV. I have them connected through a USB port, direct current from the RV's battery when we aren't connected to shore power. If I do need to use them outside, they are easy enough to move.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unfortunate USB Adaptor

It’s too bad the USB Adaptor doesn’t work with the AlpenGlow lights…seams to be a miss.

Hi Karl! Thanks so much for the feedback! When using the USB adaptor with the AlpenGlow, you want to make sure that the dongle is firmly pushed into the Alpenglow USB port. When doing this, it might appear as if the adapter hasn't been plugged in all the way -- but it should function exactly as expected! Not compatible with lantern

I planned to power the string from a Biolite Alpenglow lamtern 250. It does not light up when connected with the bulky USB adapter and the Lantern 250 has no daisy chain output that would enable dimming as mentioned in some of Biolites commecials.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost great lighting additions

Everything about these lights is great, until you get to the end of wrapping the cord into the nicely provided cord wrap slot on the light, and find that the mini plug has nowhere to go and just dangles annoyingly. If you try hard, you can get it into the cord wrap slot but prying it out is a pain. I will likely try to file a bit larger opening for a portion of the slot and see how that works to store the plug.
Otherwise, the system is brilliant! Easily positioned lighting. 2 is a lot of light, 4 makes a big campsite pleasant. Dimmable so when your eyes adjust to the night you don't get blinded.
If the kit came with a little storage pouch, it would be even better.

Headlights in your hands

I got these in a combo pack with the Nanogrid and they haven't ceased to amaze me every time we go hiking, especially night hikes. When you pair the Nanogrid to 2 or more Sitelights you might begin to wonder where the generator is because man are they bright, and let me tell you if you have any doubt that ten feet is not enough cord, just stop, I was like you and was proven wrong instantly. the first thing I did was find the biggest trunk I could- probably 7-8 foot circumference- laughed and said to myself 'haha yeah right like it will be long enough', swung the light around and was promptly smacked in the head as I was reaching out to catch it. The cord is also a braided nylon so I do not anticipate it wearing out as a standard rubber/silicone would, and it also grabs the bark nicely. Warning avoid sappy trees/ take alcohol pads to clean the rope.
All in all I would highly recommend this for anyone who camps with others and wants to be the life of the party. The only minor draw back is that it takes quite a while for the Nanogrid to charge off of the Campstove 2 or wall charger, it makes up for it in battery life. I think the problem of a long charge time will be combated by alternatively charging during the day with one of the solar options Biolite has to offer. By using a Solar panel during the day while continued charging into the night with the Campstove 2 would make this ideal for multi day trips.
