Great concept but tuff to maintain

I have now used this CampStove set 14 times and it is still not any easier.
I really want this to work, I am tired of carrying gas cans around. But it is tricky to get this thing going and maintaining it.
I tried the pellets, no luck, wood from the floor seems best but still you must keep tending to the fire every 2 min. It is not a worry free for 5-10 min. You must stay. On top of it, even just to boil water. The stove top kit for cooking makes it easier as it has the hole to open up but still have to tend to it.

Better than v1 in every way

1.) Bigger internal battery
2.) More fan speeds
3.) More power generation
4.) Micro USB port for charging internal battery
5.) That heat indicator is the most important thing that was missing in v1, I actually know what I'm working with now, so much better for the grill attachment and heating water with.

I too have the original and was super excited to find out that the 2gen came out
Pairing it with the grill is even better then the first
Cooking is so much easier by that I mean with more control over the fan speeds it lets you get food cooked just right
It has been a joy to use

I love this thing! I live in an apartment, so I can't have a conventional BBQ. I bought this so I could take it to the park and BBQ there, I have used it almost daily for two summers and it still runs like new. It's amazing, I have cooked everything from a large steak, to a bacon-and-eggs breakfast, to a (small) roast. Its best for one or two people, maybe three if you're doing something like hamburgers. Of course, the fuel is free if you live near hardwood trees, but a purchased bag of kindling wood will last you for a while. It also uses the pellets, but I've found they burn hot so you have to be carefull. The indicator lights include a heat meter so you can watch that; the other meters are for fan speed and battery charge and are useful. Trust the machine when it changes fan speeds automatically even if experience tells you not to. The battery/USB system is good for running lights. The unit takes about 15 minutes to cool down properly when you're done. As you can tell, I love this thing and have promoted it to my friends and anyone else who will listen. I have the complete set with the grill and pot.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Adventure Stove!

I recently traveled with a good friend to Perú and I brought a few of BioLite's gear along with me, including this awesome stove. It's true, my favorite things about the original camp stove just got better.
With no need for fuel, it made traveling a lot easier. While camping in the Andes, our guides lit up with excitement when they saw the BioLite gear we brought with us. They would smile and repeatedly say how easy it was to use. The battery life lasts longer as we were able to use it on a small amount of charge for two days in the Andes; we boiled water for tea, kept our hands warm, and boiled eggs for lunch the next day. It's easy to use and I love the new LED dashboard which lets me know when the stove is cooled off enough to put away.
Overall, great stove and great company!

Cooking with the 2nd generation stove is a lot faster with more fan speeds available. Cooking on the portable grill, two small steak 4 oz each was fast, the meat finish in about 3 minutes total. Will be great on the next camping trip to the National Park.

Awesome stove

I cannot tell you how impressed with this stove I am. I loved the mark 1, its been so well used in terms of cooking meals, the joy of collecting sticks, toasting marshmallows on the Isle of Arran and heating water whilst charging my phone. Though the Mark 2 just strengthens several areas from battery charging, power off-grid, and just brilliant versatility in powering my lights too from Biolite. Its a total leader in this field and mine is already being well used. Thank you to Biolite for an amazing product!
